Despite the chilly weather, we were thrilled to see a remarkable turnout at the 1-5AVN led Installation Motorcycle Mentorship Ride, delivering exceptional training for PMV-2 riders while spreading joy and festive cheer to our local CASA foundation. Our group brought gifts to several deserving children this holiday season, embodying the battalion vision of ready warfighters rising above to support our teammates, our families and our community.

On 26SEP2025, Charlie Company, 1-5th AV REGT helped conduct live hoist iterations as part of Officer Professional Development for the Lieutenants and Captains across the Battalion. This training led to a better understanding of Medevac capabilities and challenged each Soldier to face their fears as they were suspended beneath a helicopter. On 29JUL2025 and 07AUG2025 HHC's Rigger Section provided parachutes and Rigger Checks to JRTC Ops Group enabling them to hone their airborne skills. Additionally, Alpha Company provided three UH-60L's on 07AUG2025 as the launch platform for all jumps. 29JUL2025's jumps were completed from three U.S. Marine Corps C-130s. On 17JUL2025 Charlie Company, 1-5th AV REGT conducted a joint training exercise with the Westlake Fire Department in Lake Charles, LA to provide their firefighters familiarization training on our hoist capabilities and improve our interoperability with civilian agencies. Firefighters were provided instruction on securing personnel to the hoist and then were given the chance to ride it as well. On 10JUL2025 1-5th AV REGT had the opportunity to support and observe Fort Polk's Air Force JTAC's (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) as they conducted CAS missions with B-52s at Clairborne Range. During the exercise, 1-5th AV REGT Soldiers were able to observe the dropping of three 500 lbs. bombs, three 2000 lbs. bombs, and a "Show of Force" low pass by a B-52. Alpha Company provided Air Movement capabilities via two UH-60L Blackhawks to and from the range for all observing Soldiers and the Fort Polk JTACs. (Photos by 1LT Zachary Hafele)

On the Fourth of July, 1-5th AV REGT conducted a flyover in support of the City of Lake Charles' Fourth of July Ceremony. 1LT Michael Larsen and 1LT Brian Gengler served as PC and PI respectfully and were assisted by 1LT Jordan Cook and 1LT Zachary Hafele.
