Issues are complex. Working together and staying connected increases the chances of success. Working together to help St. Lucie County residents! COSA was founded in the early 1980's by a group of invested human service providers. It continues as a valuable ongoing resource for those providing direct services or supervising those who do. Join us at our meetings the 3rd Wed of every month 8-9:30 am

at Harbor Place in Port St. Guests are welcome to come and check us out before becoming a member. COSA offers the opportunity to stay up-to-date on community unmet needs, resources, and services. Meetings are held monthly and one-time visitors are welcome.
• Get updates on what's happening with community programs & services.
• Ask questions about a tough case for which you need help finding resources.
• Inform others about what is happening in your organization.
• Educate, inform and update members on issues that affect our community.
• Join the listserve and send requests/notices to the entire membership with one email.
• Find out about grant opportunities.
• Share gaps in services and problem solve with those that can help.
• Learn more about the Health and Human services available in St. Lucie County. With a COSA membership:
• Subscribe to the listserve, an electronic mailing list that allows members to send one email that is broadcast all COSA members. (share information, collaborate about resources and identify support). You must be a verified member of the list in order to send emails.
• Participate in Chamber of Commerce Events as a COSA Member.
• Apply for scholarships for professional development.
• Apply for awards for Volunteer of the Year, Agency of the Year, Community Reinvestment Award, and a scholarship for the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce Leadership program.
•Get support for your community service projects. Annual memberships are only $20 for individuals and $30 for a corporation. An unlimited number of staff or volunteers can attend under the corporate membership.

We are excited to officially open full registration for Girl Let Go Inc, a mentorship program dedicated to empowering girls ages 6–18.

Our program focuses on helping girls build confidence, develop life skills, and grow in a safe, supportive environment.

Through our sessions, girls will gain:

✔ Hygiene & self-care education
✔ Leadership & life skills

Registration for Good Grief Summer Camp is now open!

Our 3-day camp provides a safe and healing environment for youth ages 5 to 12 to share their feelings about grief and make new friends. Campers explore their grief through art, Adventure Therapy, music and fun!

Donations Needed for Our Hope to Go Boutique! 🌟

We’re gearing up for this year’s Hope to Go Boutique, and we need your help to support the pregnant and postpartum moms, babies, and toddlers we serve through Mothers at Hope right here in St. Lucie County.

Every baby deserves a strong, loving start, and every mother deserves to feel supported during one of the most transformative seasons of her life.

We are currently collecting new or gently used items including:

"Summer Sampler 2026" allows high school students to earn volunteer hours and experience the pillars of The M.A.R.C.C. Academy (Mentorship, Adult Readiness, Community, and Connection) on a "drop-in" basis for the summer without the requirement of membership!

In partnership with St. Lucie County and the City of Fort Pierce, In the Image of Christ will be operating an emergency cold weather shelter at the Percy Peek Gym, located at 2902 Ave. D starting Monday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m.

The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) is estimating that temperatures across the Treasure Coast will drop below 40 degrees for a period of at least four consecutive hours overnight on Monday, Jan. 26. The emergency cold weather shelter at Percy Peek Gym is scheduled to open on Monday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. and close at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

For individuals who need transportation to the temporary shelter, the Area Regional Transit (ART) will provide free transportation at the locations below, starting from Monday, Jan. 26 from 6 p.m. and tentatively ending at 8 p.m.:

-Port St. Lucie Intermodal Station, 395 SE Deacon Ave. in Port St. Lucie
-Fort Pierce Intermodal Facility, 725 Avenue D, Fort Pierce
-Prima Vista Crossing Bus Stop on Prima Vista, east of U.S. 1
-Pinewood Park, 820 Sunrise Blvd. in Fort Pierce
-Kilmer Branch Library, 101 Melody Lane in Fort Pierce
-Publix Plaza at Taylor Creek, 1851 North U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce
-Percy Peek Gym, 2902 Ave. D in Fort Pierce.

For more information about the emergency cold weather shelter at Percy Peek Gym, contact Pastor Hazel Hoylman with In the Image of Christ at 772-359-9653. In the Image of Christ is a community-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that partners with St. Lucie County to operate an emergency cold weather shelter when temperatures drop below 40 degrees for more than four hours.

Residents should bring pets inside overnight during these cold evenings. St. Lucie County’s Animal Safety staff reminds residents that it is illegal to leave pets tethered outside unsupervised, regardless of the temperature.

PLEASE NOTE: space is not available for bulky or numerous items. Riders are allowed up to four bags with a weight limit of 10 pounds each. Riders may not transport explosives, illegal substances, flammable liquids or materials hazardous to themselves, the driver or other riders.
