St. Lucie County administrative offices, libraries and some attractions will be closed today, Mon, Sep 7, in observance of Labor Day. Regular business hours will resume tomorrow.

Ravenswood Pool is open from 6:30 am - 1:00 pm.

Lakewood Pool is open from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Calling all plant enthusiasts and green thumbs! You are cordially invited to the grand opening of the St. Lucie County Library System’s first Seed Library on Saturday, Sep 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Morningside Branch Library.

Created in collaboration with the UF/IFAS St. Lucie County Extension Office, the Seed Library is designed to encourage gardening, promote plant diversity and connect our community through the joy of growing.

Through the Seed Library, community members can share, save and exchange seeds while learning about Florida-Friendly Landscaping™, sustainable gardening practices and plants that thrive in our local environment.

The Seed Library will launch at the Morningside Branch Library, with plans to expand the program to libraries throughout St. Lucie County in the future.

Kick up your heels and join St. Lucie County Parks & Recreation's newest fitness program! Adult Line Dancing is coming to the Havert L. Fenn Center beginning Monday, July 20.

In recognition of World Rabies Day, St. Lucie County Animal Safety is hosting its annual drive-up rabies vaccination event on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds.

Important: Due to high demand and long wait times last year, this event is only available to residents of unincorporated St. Lucie County. Residents of Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie should contact their local animal control agency for vaccination opportunities.

Pre-registration opens Sept. 1 and closes at 4 p.m. Sept. 23. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

To register, email [email protected] with your name, address, phone number, number and type of pets, emergency contact information, a copy of your government-issued ID and proof of residency.

Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in secure carriers. Rabies vaccines and microchips are limited to five per household. Microchips are free for pets that are not already microchipped.

Important: Pre-registered residents must enter through Peacock Road, past the main fairgrounds entrance. Do not enter through the main entrance. Residents without the required paperwork will not be able to receive services.

The St. Lucie County Aquarium recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, and the celebration was making quite a splash!

Guests of all ages dove into learning about our ocean ecosystems, including an up-close look at our very own Indian River Lagoon. From touch tanks to behind-the-scenes tours of the lab, it was two packed days of discovery, exploration and plenty of fin-tastic fun.
