Last night, 44 dedicated early childhood educators joined us for Building Positive Teacher-Child Interactions, presented entirely in Spanish. We were proud to partner with the incredible Marjorie Gittings to provide this valuable learning opportunity.

At the ELC, we recognize that offering professional development in educators' native languages helps empower teachers to continue learning, build confidence, and strengthen the quality of care and education they provide every day. By investing in our educators, we are investing in the success of our children.

This month at our Board Meeting, we had the privilege of recognizing some truly remarkable individuals and celebrating an important milestone in early childhood education—20 years of Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) in the State of Florida.

Board members and attendees were inspired by special guests Heather Sargent, VPK Regional Facilitator with the Division of Early Learning, and Cari Miller, Florida’s Chancellor of Early Learning. Their remarks highlighted the importance of quality early learning experiences and the dedicated professionals who make them possible

We were proud to recognize VPK providers, owners, directors, and teachers who have dedicated 20 years of service to VPK. We also honored Early Learning Coalition staff members who have supported VPK in various capacities throughout the past two decades. Their commitment, leadership, and passion have helped strengthen early learning opportunities for countless children and families across our community.

Thank you to all who have been part of this incredible 20-year journey. Your dedication has left a lasting legacy and continues to shape the future of early learning in St. Lucie County.
