Through hands-on training, mentorship from deputies, and participation in community events, Explorers are guided toward personal growth and responsible citizenship.
Our program emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and integrity while creating a positive environment where teens can challenge themselves and succeed. Whether your child is considering a future in public safety or simply wants to be part of something bigger than themselves, Explorer Post 400 provides a strong foundation.

Our explorers proudly represented us at the Spring Delegates event in Sarasota County, demonstrating dedication, discipline, and strong commitment to learning. Throughout the event, they competed in fi****ms and participated in hands-on training focused on traffic stops, building searches, taser operation, and physical fitness.
Their hard work and preparation truly paid off! A special congratulations goes out to two of our explorers for their outstanding achievements on the range, earning 1st place in Marksmanship (Rim Fire) and 2nd place in the Tyro Division (Center Fire).
We are proud of each and every explorer for their professionalism, teamwork, and determination. Keep up the great work as you continue to grow into leaders of tomorrow!

Yesterday our Junior Cadets got some hands-on experience learning one of the many important skills used in law enforcement—proper handcuffing techniques.

Under the guidance of trained officers, they practiced safely, and with a focus on responsibility and teamwork. Programs like this help build confidence, discipline, and a deeper understanding of what it means to serve and protect our community.

We’re proud of the dedication these young cadets are showing as they learn, grow, and step into leadership roles for the future. 👮‍♂️👏

Our Sheriff’s Office Explorers had an incredible Valentine’s weekend giving back in the best way ❤️
They had the honor of assisting at a special needs Valentine’s dance — cheering on guests, opening doors, and helped park the chauffeurs and chaperones. From start to finish, it was nothing but smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
This amazing event, hosted nationwide through Tim Tebow, truly brought the community together. Explorers, chaperones, and our incredible special guests all had an absolute blast!
So proud of these young leaders for showing kindness, compassion, and heart! 💕

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Explorers got a surprise visit from the Grinch before heading out for a long night of parking cars at the Festival of Lights! 🎄💚Even the Grinch couldn't resist stopping by to spread a little holiday mischief and cheer. Our explorers showed up with great attitudes, teamwork, and dedication, ready to serve the community and keep the festivities running smoothly. We are so proud of young leaders for giving their time and representing the Sheriff's Office so well this holiday season!🚓✨

🚓❄️This weekend a group of Saint Lucie County Explorers represented the post at the Winter Delegates in Clay County! Throughout the event, the explorers engaged in a series of training and competitive activities to enhance their knowledge and preparedness.
They took part in a fi****ms competition, showcasing skills and proficiency. They learned about tactical first aid, acquiring critical lifesaving knowledge, and trained in dispatch communications ☎️, gaining insight into essential public safety operations.
They also worked through burglary and disturbance scenarios, putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test. 🚔
We are proud of their hard work, professionalism and dedication. Great job Post 400!! 💙👏

What an incredible night celebrating the holiday season with our Explorer family! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Christmas Party, your support and participation made the evening truly special!
A heartfelt thank you to Sheriff Richard Del Toro and the Command Staff for attending and showing continued support for our youth. Your presence means so much to our Explorers and their families!
We were especially proud to recognize the outstanding achievements within our post this year! Congratulations to all members who received promotions and recognitions for their years of service, dedication, and leadership.
Thank you to all the families who came out to celebrate with us. Your encouragement and involvement are essential to the success of our program, and we are grateful for your continued support!
