We are aware of a widespread outage on the south end of our system running down Highway 11 to Colbran and up Lookout Mountain into the Dogtown community and along Dogtown Road. This is not a planned outage and crews are working to identify the cause of the outage and restore power as soon as safely possible.

FPIA will have a planned outage at the Primary Substation early Sunday morning, April 26, 2026. This outage is required to perform necessary switch replacements. The plan consists of a 30-45 minute outage beginning around midnight Saturday to isolate the job area and then energize the station back up temporarily while we perform the necessary work. Once all work has been completed, we plan to have another brief outage early Sunday morning to tie the station back together and then re-energize. We do not anticipate the two brief outages to last more than 30-45 minutes if all goes as expected. We are performing the work in the middle of the night to have as minimal impact to the public and local businesses as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete this much needed maintenance.

We are aware of a widespread outage effecting much of the downtown Fort Payne area. Our crews are working to identify the problem and restore service as soon as safely possible. We appreciate your patience and we will get your power back so you can have a Happy Easter.

Follow up, this may take awhile. A tree has fallen and torn down lines at 4th Street SW and caused extensive damage. Hopefully we can switch some lines out and minimize the impact, but repairs are going to take some time. We apologize for the inconvenience this Easter morning.

WINTER WEATHER
The forecast is changing but we are not out of the woods yet. Our crews will be monitoring the power system throughout the weekend and will be responding as soon as safely possible to restore power. Please understand that in the event of widespread outages our phone system is often overwhelmed with calls. We have added lines and a call answering service, but still it is difficult to handle all calls. We appreciate your patience as we work to restore power. Thank you for allowing FPIA to serve you. Please be safe!
