If you're looking to keep your kids engaged this summer, our partners at the Lee County, FL Library have a great summer reading program.
Reading just 20 to 30 minutes a day exposes students to thousands of words and helps to preserve foundational skills while school is out.

While summer break is in full swing, we're already looking ahead to the first day of school! Our Back to School Supply Drive is officially underway as we begin stocking the shelves of our Education Resource Center in preparation for another school year.

The Education Resource Center serves as a vital resource for Lee County public school teachers, providing free school supplies, classroom materials, and other essential resources throughout the year. By helping keep our shelves filled, you're helping ease the financial burden many educators face and ensuring they have the tools needed to create engaging, successful learning environments for their students.

We're currently accepting donations of school supplies, classroom essentials, and other helpful resources to help us get ready for the new school year. Want to make it even easier? Check out our Amazon and Walmart Wishlists below, where items can be shipped directly to us! 🛒

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our teachers and students. Every donation and every share helps us start the school year ready to serve the incredible educators who give so much to our community. 🍎

Southwest Florida is officially home to two national champions. Local students showcased their brilliance at the RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, held from June 3–5 at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Competing against hundreds of thousands of students from across the country, two Lee County students secured top honors in their respective grade divisions.

Dhira Sharma, who recently completed his freshman year at Fort Myers High School, captured 1st Place in the 9th Grade Division, alongside the prestigious Aerospace Specialty Award. Meanwhile, in the elementary bracket, 10-year-old Hadley Gilchrist of Pinewoods Elementary School brewed up a massive victory. Gilchrist won 1st Place for the 3rd Grade Division with her invention, the Porta Popper.

This summer, for the first time, the district transformed professional development into a full three-day summit experience, fully funded through a generous grant that made immersive, focused learning possible for more than 650 educators from across the district.

The theme was the climb. Whether navigating the complex topography of IEPs, scaling the cliffs of behavioral escalation, or using new digital tools to scout the path ahead, every session was designed to make the climb more manageable for teachers and their students.
