8:46p Call dispatch as a possible single-family structure fire. Reported advising that all people are out of the structure, but multiple birds are stuck inside.

8:51p Eng761 in scene advising of a single-family home. Working fire.

8:53p Eng761 advising 360 complete. Water on the fire.

8:54p Eng761 advising fire out. Checking for extension.

๐Ÿšจ Incident Report - Vehicle and Residential Fire ๐Ÿšจ

At approximately 5:20 PM today, fire crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire that had spread to a nearby residence. Upon arrival, fire crews acted quickly and efficiently to extinguish the fire, which had involved a UTV and was beginning to extend into the attic of the home.

Thanks to the rapid response and teamwork with PCFR crews, the fire was contained, preventing further damage to the property. No injuries were reported. The fire cause was due to faulty equipment on the UTV.

A special thank you to our cutting-edge Generation SAM smart technologyโ€”this advanced tool allowed our teams to apply water more effectively, significantly reducing the risk of additional damage and ensuring a faster, more efficient response.

Firefighters Proudly Displaying New Carter Kits-Sensory Bags!

The Fort Meade Fire Department is currently completing in-depth training on our new Carter Kits - Sensory Bags designed to assist children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder during stressful emergencies. These kits contain sensory-friendly items like noise-canceling headphones and communication tools to help reduce anxiety and improve communication.

Carter Kits will be carried on select trucks to ensure weโ€™re ready to support those with autism during critical situations.

Fort Meade Fire Department wants to inform residents that prescribed burns will be conducted on local agricultural properties today and over the next several days. These burns are essential to manage growth and reduce the risk of uncontrolled wildfires in the future. These burns are permitted by the Division of Forestry.

๐Ÿšจ Fort Meade Fire Department Structure Fire ๐Ÿšจ

At approximately 1:28 PM, Fort Meade Fire Department crews were dispatched to the 800 block of French Avenue S. for a reported structure fire.

Crews found a fully involved shed fire that had begun to spread to a nearby home. Thanks to the quick and efficient work of our firefighters, the fire was swiftly extinguished, preventing further damage. Thanks to Generation SAM with our new smart nozzles, water was able to applied to the fire quicker than ever before.

We are thankful to report that there were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A huge thank you to Polk County Fire Rescue Polk County Professional Firefighters - IAFF Local 3531 for their assistance on the scene!

๐Ÿ”ฅ Structure Fire โ€“ 5000 Block of Lake Buffum Rd. S. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

At 9:05 AM this morning, the City of Fort Meade Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 5000 block of Lake Buffum Rd. S.

First arriving crews found a detached shed fully involved in flames. Firefighters from Fort Meade Fire Department and Polk County Fire Rescue worked quickly and effectively to extinguish the fire.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported to bystanders or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Thank you to all the responding crews for their hard work and professionalism!
