Our religious affairs soldiers facilitated an amazing prayer breakfast back in October. It was an incredible opportunity share a meal with each other and build community. After the meal, there was an optional open faith talk from Chaplin Critchfield talking about resiliency and why we do what we do. Thank you Chaplin Critchfield for all your hard work and we wish you the best of luck moving forward.

☃️ Prepare your Vehicle for Winter 🌨️
Before winter, it is essential to prepare your vehicle by checking several key components:

❄️ Lights and wipers.
Ensure all headlights, brake lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, and interior lights function. Fill your windshield wiper reservoir with winter-grade fluid, check the blades for serviceability, and replace worn blades.

❄️ Cooling system.
Verify that your vehicle has enough coolant to meet manufacturer specifications. Check for leaks, test the coolant, and replace old fluid as needed. Inspect hoses and belts for serviceability to avoid costly breakdowns this winter.

❄️ Anti-lock or not.
On slippery roads, for cars equipped with anti-lock brakes, keep pressure on the pedal until stopped (don’t be startled by the feedback in the pedal). For vehicles without anti-lock brakes, pump the brake pedal to avoid locking the wheels and causing your vehicle to slide.

❄️ Tires.
Consumerreports.org recommends a minimum tread depth of 4/32 of an inch in the middle of winter. Consider replacing your tires if you can see the top of George Washington’s head when you place a quarter in the tread groove.
