The Department of the Army's Better Opportunities for Single Servicemembers (BOSS) continues to play an integral role within our Army. This essential program has a presence not only in the Single Servicemembers community, but in the single parent and geographical bachelor demographics as well. The mission of BOSS is to enhance the quality of life and morale of Single Servicemembers, increase reten

tion, sustain readiness and maintain the all volunteer force supporting an expeditionary force. The BOSS programs achieve this posture by supporting the various pillars of BOSS which are the very foundation; that of quality of life, community service and recreation and leisure. BOSS affords Single Servicemembers the opportunity to assist in the planning and ex*****on of recreational activities or performing community service-related projects. Community service projects provide valuable experience, skills, and a sense of community pride and ownership.
