Avenger Company SFRG Avenger Company SFRG supports the Soldiers and Families of Alpha Company 296th BSB 1-2 SBCT.

The 296th Forward Support Battalion was constituted on 23 November 1944 in the Army of the United States as the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 296th Quartermaster Battalion, Mobile, and activated on 15 December 1944 at Camp Bowie, Texas. On 1 August 1946, following World War II, the battalion was converted and redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 296th Transportatio

n Corps Truck Battalion. The unit was once again reorganized and redesignated on 17 October 1949, this time as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 296th Truck Battalion. On 25 October 1951, the unit was allocated to the Regular Army and on 8 April 1954, reorganized and redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 296th Transportation Battalion. Inactivated 5 November 1955 in Korea, the unit was reactivated and redesignated 16 October 1989 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 296th Support Battalion, assigned to the 2d Infantry Division, in Korea. While stationed at Camp Edwards, Korea, in direct support of 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, the soldiers of the battalion provided support to units keeping watch on the Korean demilitarized zone. It was there that the battalion earned its nickname “Frontline Support.” Three years later, on 16 September 1992, the battalion was inactivated. The 296th Forward Support Battalion was subsequently reactivated on 16 October 1995 at Fort Lewis, Washington, and on 15 September 2000 renamed the 296th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB) as part of the Interim Brigade Combat Team. On 7 February 2004, 296th BSB completed a transfer of authority from 101st Airborne Division in Mosul, Iraq, in support of combat operations in Samarrah, Mosul, Tal Afar, Al K*t and Taji. There the battalion supported the first combat deployment of the Army’s first Stryker Brigade. The soldiers of the battalion provided support to the Arrowhead Brigade conducting operations from the Iraq-Syria Border to the southern Iraq town of Al K*t. On 4 November 2005, the battalion returned to Fort Lewis to prepare for future operations. On 30 July 2006, the 296th BSB completed a transfer of authority from the 172nd BSB, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team. The Frontline Battalion consists of:

C Co Cobras: Medical Company
HHC Outlaws: Mayor Cell, Field Feeding Teams, and Staff

Avengers,

I am happy to announce the starting of the Avenger PT clothing! I have worked with the vendor on the below uniform. These items are going to be authorized for wear during all Unit PT Events or activities in APFU. The website will suspend on 27MAY21 and will no longer be able to buy after that point until another website is created. Once the website is closed on 27MAY21, you can expect the clothing to be in by the 4th-9th of JUNE. There is short sleeve shirts, long sleeve and sweatshirts. This is open to all personnel that want any of the items to include families and relatives. These will not be shipped but locally picked up to reduce the overall cost of the uniform.

Avengers,

It has been quite the week! We started strong with the Reenlistment of one of our great 92As and ended with a award ceremony of two of our great NCOs! We followed it up by bringing in our truckload of candy and dumping it in a secure location! If you look around within the photo, it can be identified where this location is.... As always, the Avengers are here to support our BN by bringing in the most candy and support for all our families with 296th BSB! Today was another great day in the Avenger Organization! From Division to individual Soldier success, we had two identified by the Division Commander and one by the BDE commander that have enabled the Ghost Brigade and Frontline Battalion an unbeatable team! Today was a great day in the Avenger Company! There were two Soldiers one from the SSA PLT and one from the HQ PLT that took the oath of enlistment and are getting some pretty great Frontline Swag and great assignments! There’s nothing better than swearing the oath and then taking the day to share it with your loved ones or just taking some time for yourself! In the Avenger Company, these Soldiers get the re-enlisted day and the day after off for the choice of further service in this great Organization we call the Army!

We also had the great pleasure of sending off one of our great soldiers from the Ammo PLT as he heads to his next duty station! You will be greatly missed in the Avenger Company! Keep up the great work and always reach back if you need anything! Great job Avengers! -A6/7

This last Friday was a great day in the Avenger Company. Our company team crushed the Battalion company competition that consisted of multiple ACFT events and then The Avengers were able to promote 8 individuals to the next rank and award 3 others for their efforts during the Joint Readiness Training Center rotation back in November. All these great things are what make the Avengers an unbeatable team! Congrats to all and continue to make our company the best one in the Ghost Brigade! -A6
