3rd Chemical Brigade Fort Leonard Wood, MO Army Chemical School headquarters is located in the Sibert Wing of General Maxwell Thurman Hall. Annually, these instructors teach over 4,500 students. The E.F.

Provide relevant and realistic training in a values based immersive environment in order to produce values based, disciplined, tactically and technically proficient Soldiers and Leaders who embody the warrior ethos that are capable of immediately contributing to their first unit of assignment in combat.

3d Chemical Brigade
The U.S. Completed in May 1999, the hall is equipped with

the most technically advanced audio-visual equipment and distance learning capability available today. This state-of-the-art facility serves as the primary training site for newly commissioned chemical lieutenants, captains, and chemical specialists personnel receiving specialized training on the Biological Integrated Detection System (BIDS), and the FOX Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle and radiological safety and defense against the effects of radiation. The 3rd Chemical Brigade, adjacent to Baker Theater on Iowa Avenue, provides command and control for 1-48th, 2-10th, 3-10th Infantry Battalion, 43rd Adjutant Reception Battalion, 58th Transportation Battalion, 84th Chemical Battalion, and the Chemical Defense Training Facility. The 1-48th, 2-10th, and 3-10th Infantry Battalion provide Basic Combat Training (BCT) to provide out Army with trained, disciplined, motivated, adn physically fit soldiers who respond to leadership, are focused on teamwork, demonstrate the warrior ethos, and uphold the Army's core value. The three Infantry Basic Combat Training units provide over 2,500 Soldiers to our Army. The 58th Transportation Battalion continuously conducts and supports Initial Military Training (IMT) in basic transportation skills to produce highly motivated and disciplined, physically fit, entry-level Motor Transport Operators inculcated with the Seven Army Values and the Warrior Ethos. The 58th Transportation Battalion conducts advanced individual training for 4,200 88M motor transport operators and 1,000 92F fuel petroleum specialists annually. The 84th Chemical Battalion provides the cadre and staff for the Chemical School and instructors for chemical enlisted and officer programs of instruction. Trains chemical warrior in order to produce combat ready, values-based, competent, confident and tactically proficient chemical soldiers and leaders; deploys specialized units and soldiers in support of out Nation's security. The 3rd Chemical Brigade trains more than 23, 000 students annually in support our Army. Specialized Training Facilities

Completed in November 1998, the Chemical Applied Training Facility (CATF), also known as Nord Hall, is the headquarters for the 84th Chemical Battalion. This facility is the site for technical training for both initial entry chemical soldiers and officers. The CATF provides specialized training in the operation of chemical detection and decontamination equipment. Bullene Chemical Defense Training Facility, known as the CDTF, was completed in February 1999 at a cost of $28 million. The CDTF provides a safe and realistic training experience designed to create “chemical veterans.” Through the use of real chemical agents (Nerve GB/VX), the training instills confidence in chemical soldiers and demonstrates the reliability of chemical defense equipment and protective clothing. The CDTF also trains Marine, Navy, Air Force, and allied students on operations in a toxic chemical environment. The 1LT Joseph Terry Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Responder Training Facility was completed September 2007, and occupies approximately 22.5 acres adn provides a state-of-art CBRN Responder Training Campus for the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and other Agencies as requested. The CBRN School is the lead for all DoD CBRN Response Training
