Check Talent Marketplace for a new SSgt ad (Job ID: 46528, RNLTD 30 Nov 2025)

Instructor positions provide the opportunity to affect the future of our career field and the trajectory of your career. The 368th TRS at Fort Leonard Wood has many new faces, and our cohesive goal is to enhance the standard of training for apprentice students as well as our TDY students. We are doing this through updates to curricula, integrating new technology, and investing in the development of our instructors. This development plan focuses heavily on attaining certifications that will help separate you from your peers at promotion boards and bolster your resume when you leave the military.
Instructors at the schoolhouse will go through a new development schedule qualifying you for a “T-code” prefix, 2nd CCAF degree in Instructor of Technology and Military Science, Army Basic Instructor Badge, Army Senior Instructor Badge, Army Achievement and Commendation Decorations in addition to Air and Space decorations, Community College of the Air Force Instructor Certification levels I, II, III, and an AETC Master Instructor Certification.
While we cannot guarantee deployments will not happen, all engineering instructors are currently being placed on a DAV 64 indicating we are mission critical personnel. This deployment availability indicator paired with a 3-year code 50, provides stability for individuals and families that would be near impossible to find anywhere else in the Air Force.
If you are interested in an instructing position, please contact MSgt Simons, MSgt Marquis Williams, or Mr. Cory Macdonald for any questions at 573-596-4833!
Members must meet the below qualifications to apply:
Member must have their A.A.S Degree from CCAF, associate degree from an outside institution, or be within 1-year of completion from advertised RNLTD and have a minimum of 24 months of retainability. After applying, send a combined PDF document containing Career Data Brief, 2 most recent EPBs, fitness RIP, and a letter of recommendation from your supervisor or Flight Chief to the POCs. Early reporting is authorized.

Delayed reporting with unscheduled leave in effect and maximum telework Tuesday, November 15, for Fort Leonard Wood personnel

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (November 14, 2022) — Due to forecasted inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, there will be a two-hour delayed reporting time for Tuesday, Nov. 15, on Fort Leonard Wood for non-mission essential personnel — as previously identified by supervisors.

For example, personnel who normally report at 7:30 a.m., should now report at 9:30 a.m.; those who normally report at 8 a.m., will report at 10 a.m.

The reporting delay is issued for safety and allows road crews time to treat the roads.

Maximum teleworking is encouraged for Tuesday, Nov. 15, if eligible and capable. Supervisors and employees should ensure required telework equipment is taken home today.

Unscheduled leave policy is in effect for those individuals who are unable to report by their reporting time. Please check with your immediate supervisor for more details.

Child Development Centers and School Age Center are scheduled to open at 8 a.m. and close at their normally scheduled times.

Davidson Fitness Center will open at 8 a.m. with reduced staff.

Specker Gym will open with a two-hour delay or as staffing allows.

All other MWR facilities will open as regularly scheduled and will close at the normally scheduled times. Staffing could affect opening times. For more details, check the MWR web page at https://leonardwood.armymwr.com/.

Appointments at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital before 9 a.m. will be rescheduled. GLWACH's Emergency Department remains open and operational. For recorded information regarding GLWACH, call the appointment line at 1.866.299.4234.

AAFES Main Exchange and Mini-Mall and will open at 8 a.m. and close at their normally scheduled times.

The North and South shoppettes will open at 8 a.m. and close at their normally scheduled times.

The Commissary will operate with normal business hours.

Motorists are reminded to slow down due to icy road conditions and allow extra time to arrive at their destinations safely.

For current road conditions, call the SNAIR hotline at 573.563.4141, or visit the SNAIR web page at https://home.army.mil/wood/index.php/Garrison/weather.

What a great week for the 3E5 career field. Each one of these outstanding leaders put in the time not just over the past 5 days, but for over 15 weeks leading up to this and the result was an STRT process that other AFSCs should model themselves after. The Engineering Schoolhouse is excited to continue working with you all out in the field to refine and mold the next great Apprentice, Craftsman and Advanced Survey courses to ensure that our Airmen are prepared to be at the tip of every spear…."Alone and Unafraid" if needed. The future of the EA career field is bright, and we are excited to start producing the next generation of Engineers to meet all challenges anywhere on the globe. Engineers lead the way.
