Papa Company, 244th Quartermaster Battalion, 23rd Quartermaster Brigade Welcome to the Papa Company's Official page! 🏴‍☠️ These tasks make the 92Y Armorer Certified.

The 92Y Unit Supply Specialist is trained in all critical tasks dealing with requesting, receiving, issuing, and maintaining or establishing accountability of individual, organizational, installation, and expendable/durable supplies and equipment. These tasks also include security and administration of a unit arms room as well as organizational maintenance of small arms. At the 10 level, the 92Y r

eceives, inspects, inventories, loads, unloads, segregates, stores, issues, delivers and turns in organization and installation supplies and equipment. The 92Y prepares all unit/organization supply documents and accounts for Army property, supplies and equipment using the GCSS-Army automated supply system. In the small arms area, the 92Y issues and receives small arms, secures and controls weapons and ammunition in security areas, and schedules and performs preventive and organizational maintenance on weapons. This past weekend, our Soldiers from 5th Platoon Voyagers, led by Drill Sergeant Grubbs, and 11th Platoon Guardians, led by Drill Sergeant Proctor, demonstrated true selfless service through community volunteer events!

The Voyagers supported operations at Virginia Motorsports Park, showcasing teamwork and dedication, while the Guardians took part in a community cleanup in Hopewell, doing their part to keep the city beautiful and thriving.

Volunteering and community engagement play a vital role in strengthening the bond between the Army and local communities building trust, pride, and shared purpose. Through service beyond the uniform, these Soldiers embody the Army Values and remind us that leadership starts with giving back.

This weekend, Papa Company hosted an electrifying Installation Home Run Derby, bringing together some serious heavy hitters from across the post! The competition was fierce, the crowd was hyped, and the bats were on fire.

After an intense showdown, SSG Quitugua, Noah from 59th Ordnance Brigade, crushed the competition and claimed the champion title, walking away with a trophy, a $50 gift card, and of course, ultimate bragging rights! 🥇

Special shoutout to 2nd Platoon Plank Walkers, who went the extra mile by hosting their community event at the run, showing that Papa Pride means honoring our heroes while giving back to the community.

🔥 9th PLT “Immortals” Led by DS Asare- Huge congratulations to PFC Jenkins for earning the title of Battalion Soldier of the Month! Competing against the best of the best, Jenkins proved that dedication, discipline, and hard work pay off. Way to represent the Immortals and make your platoon proud!

💥 DS Herrera – NCO of the Month! Another massive win for Papa Company as DS Herrera crushed the competition and claimed the title of the NCO of the Month for August. This marks Papa Company’s FOURTH consecutive win in 244th Quartermaster Battalion's NCO of the Month board competitions

🏆 2nd PLT “Best Pirate” Champions! The Plank Walkers, Led by DS Delfyette, walked the plank CRUSHED the competition and walked away as the winners of the Quarterly Best Pirate Competition. Their teamwork, drive, and relentless Pirate spirit set the standard for the entire battalion!

🎓 6th PLT “Phantoms” Graduation! The Phantoms, led by DS Miller, have officially graduated and earned the title of 92Y Unit Supply Specialists! From day one to graduation, the Phantoms have embodied resilience and determination. Now they join the operational force to support the fight with pride and skill.

🔥🏀 Nothing but net! Papa Company, 244th QM BN, turned up the energy at our 2nd Annual 3-Point Shootout Competition! Soldiers from across the installation brought their best game, with 26 sharpshooters stepping up to the line to battle it out for bragging rights and the crown.

After an intense round of buckets, clutch shots, and plenty of cheers from the crowd, PFC Garcia from Bravo Company, 832nd OD BN, came out on top and proved he’s got ice in his veins! PFC Garcia walked away with a $50 gift card, the championship trophy , and of course, the ultimate prize: bragging rights until next year! 🥇

Huge shoutout to all the competitors who showed up and balled out, it was an awesome day of competition, camaraderie, and friendly rivalry. Can’t wait to see who’s taking the title next year!

Today, Drill Sergeant Jacob Cavallaro reaffirmed his commitment to the U.S. Army by reenlisting for four more years! Those fortunate enough to have been mentored by DS Cavallaro know his unmatched dedication and leadership make him a true force multiplier. DS Cavallaro will soon take his talents to the Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), where he will play a critical role in advising and training our partner nations’ militaries. His new assignment highlights the importance of experienced leaders in building global partnerships and strengthening our Army’s mission worldwide. December Highlights from Papa Company!

It’s been a busy and rewarding month, and we want to take a moment to celebrate some key achievements and events:

• 13 December: Congratulations to DS Folkes on her promotion to Sergeant First Class (SFC)! This is a significant milestone, marking her transition into the senior NCO ranks.
• 13 December: DS Ross officially “dehatted,” concluding his 24 months as a Drill Sergeant. Thank you, DS Ross, for your mentorship, dedication, and countless hours supporting our Pirates 🏴‍☠️. Your impact will be felt long after you leave the trail!
• 5th Platoon took on a Saturday battlefield run, combining physical fitness with a lesson in military history. A great way to build teamwork and stay mission-ready!
• Our cadre celebrated the holiday season with a secret Santa gift exchange, strengthening our bonds and showcasing the camaraderie that defines our Pirate family.
• 1st and 6th Platoons gave back to the community by participating in a volunteer event, demonstrating their dedication to service both on and off duty.

Papa Company is closing out December on a high note, reflecting on our successes and looking forward to what the new year will bring!
