This past weekend, members of the Fort Lee Police Department Honor Guard proudly presented our nations colors at Citi Field for the Mets Korean Heritage Day, held in honor of Korean Liberation Day.

Sergeant Hyou Joon Lee, Detective Min Sung Kim, Detective Christian Buonsanto, Police Officer Jonathan Kim, and Police Officer Jason Cho represented our department with pride during this meaningful cultural observance.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside the Korean community in recognizing and honoring this important day in Korean history.

After three weeks of intensive leadership training, Captain Thomas Porto graduated from the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police (PERF SMIP) at Boston University.

Alongside 103 law enforcement leaders from across the U.S. and Canada, Captain Porto learned from faculty at MIT, Harvard, Dartmouth, the University of Texas, and Boston University, and heard from renowned leaders including Commissioner Bill Bratton and Commissioner Charles Ramsey. The program focused on ethical leadership, organizational change, emotional intelligence, strategic communication, negotiations, artificial intelligence, and the future of policing.

Congratulations to Captain Thomas Porto on this achievement and his continued commitment to leadership and service.
