Service members, including M-Day soldiers in the Army National Guard, are subject to strict Department of Defense (DoD) policies regarding social media activity as it pertains to political messages that impact good order and discipline. These policies are outlined in Army Regulation 600-20, and TAG Policy letter #34. The guidelines aim to prevent the implication of DoD or Army endorsement of any political cause and to preserve the non-partisan integrity of the military. I would encourage everyone to exercise this discipline by not responding to or post a message based on political policies or beliefs, especially recent acts of violence based on political viewpoints.
