Traffic Tuesday Ep. 49 – The Shoes Made Me Faster
Comment “shoes” to see the full episode!
68 mph in a 35 mph zone caught the officer’s attention, but the driver wasn’t exactly convinced she had been speeding.
First, it was a new car. Then, she explained that she never gets in trouble. And eventually, we arrived at the real culprit: her shoes.
According to the driver, she learned how to drive without shoes, so apparently these particular shoes were making her go a little faster than expected.
Florida law requires drivers to obey posted speed limits and prohibits driving at a speed greater than what is reasonable and lawful for the conditions. At 68 in a 35, the shoes weren’t going to get the blame.
After some back and forth, the driver was issued two citations. Despite not being too happy about the stop, she thanked the officers and was sent on her way.
New car. Clean history. Fast shoes.
Unfortunately, none of those change the speed limit.
