For emergencies, dial 911. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue was established in 1912 and currently provides fire, rescue, and emergency management services for the citizens and visitors of the City of Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors,
and the Town of Lazy Lake. The Fire-Rescue Department, operates from 12 strategically located fire stations with more than 450 total employees. The Operations Division consists of 12 ALS engine companies, 16 ALS medical rescue units, two 95' tower ladders, one 105-foot aerial, one Hazardous Materials Response Team, one Technical Rescue Team, one Dive Rescue team one Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) company one Fire Rescue boat and one Heavy Rescue Squad. Daily staffing provides three Battalion Chiefs, one Assistant Chief, and a minimum staffing level of 85 Fire Rescue personnel.The department responds to over 46,000 calls for service annually.
