💰 A $1 million investment in Broward County’s transportation infrastructure!

Congressman Jared Moskowitz presented Broward County Mayor Mark Bogen and Commissioner Beam Furr with $1 million in federal funding for the Port Everglades Bypass Road.

The roadway provides a direct connection between State Road 84, U.S. 1 and SE 17th Street, allowing motorists to travel through the Port Everglades area without entering its secured facilities. It also provides improved access to the Broward Convention Center, Omni Hotel, and nearby businesses and beaches with the potential to reduce traffic congestion along SE 17th Street.

🧡 September is Hunger Action Month — and Broward County is taking action!

Broward County Mayor Mark Bogen presented a proclamation recognizing Hunger Action Month and the important work of Feeding South Florida to help ensure our residents have access to nutritious food.

🥫 Throughout September, Broward County is encouraging residents to support our month long food drive by donating non-perishable food items to help feed local children, families and seniors facing hunger.

Every donation can make a difference. Pick up a few extra items on your next grocery trip and help us fill the collection bins located in Broward County buildings. 💛

Together, we can help make sure no one in our community has to wonder where their next meal will come from.

🇺🇸 Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and a day that forever changed our nation. Broward County will never forget.

Today, Broward Mayor and Commissioner Michael Udine joined County Administrator Monica Cepero, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport leadership, employees and members of the community for FLL’s annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. 🕊️

Together, we paused to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, recognize the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s first responders 🚒🚓, and reflect on America’s unity that emerged in the days that followed.

❤️🤍💙 Their memory endures. Their sacrifice is never forgotten.

🇺🇸 Never Forget.

🏒🏆 It’s Bill Zito Day in Broward County!

Today, Broward Mayor Mark Bogen and the Broward County Commission honored Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito with a proclamation declaring September 10, 2026, “Bill Zito Day” in Broward County.

Since becoming General Manager in 2020, Zito has helped build the Panthers into back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions in 2024 and 2025, while earning recognition as a four-time finalist for the Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award.

The proclamation recognizes Zito’s exceptional leadership, contributions to the game of hockey and lasting impact on the Florida Panthers and the South Florida sports community. He was also presented with a ceremonial Key to the County. 🗝️

Congratulations, Bill Zito — and Go Cats! 🐾🏆

Funds received from the cost of the registration​​ are used to help feed and care for shelter animals, including important medical treatment.

Broward County animal ordinances require that every dog, cat and ferret in our community receive a rabies vaccination. In addition, by law, dogs and cats must have and wear a Broward County Pet Rabies Registration Tag on their collar.

The meeting takes place at the Broward Governmental Center, 115 South Andrews Avenue, Room 422 in Fort Lauderdale.

From operating our airport and seaport, maintaining roads, parks and libraries, supporting public safety and emergency services, caring for animals, providing water and wastewater services, helping residents in need, and delivering countless other essential services across our community — Broward County employees make a difference every day.
