June marks the beginning of a new fiscal year for Second Chance Society — a meaningful opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come and where we’re headed next.

Every life touched. Every story rewritten. Every supporter who continues to believe in second chances reminds us why this work matters.

As we step into a new year of impact, we do so with gratitude, renewed vision, and deep commitment to the individuals and families we serve.

Thank you for growing with us, believing in our mission, and helping create pathways toward healing, stability, and hope.

The work continues — and the future is bright.

Second Chance Society is proud to participate in the Broward Center for Nonprofit Excellence’s Board Leadership Roundtable.

Strong board leadership is critical to advancing our mission, ensuring accountability, and building organizational sustainability. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside and collaborate with fellow nonprofit leaders who are committed to strengthening Broward County’s nonprofit sector.

Thank you to the Broward Center for Nonprofit Excellence and Jim Bush for creating a space where board leaders can connect, share best practices, and grow together.

The Broward Center for Nonprofit Excellence recently hosted the second session of our Board Leadership Roundtable, a year-long leadership cohort bringing together Board Chairs and Vice Chairs from some of Broward County's leading nonprofit organizations.

Facilitated by Jim Bush, Principal at Winkler Group, this unique peer-learning experience creates a space for board leaders to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and strengthen the governance practices that help their organizations thrive.

We're grateful for the engagement and leadership of representatives from:

• Arc Broward
• Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc.
• Broward Housing Solutions
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County
• Children's Harbor, Inc.
• Flamingo Gardens
• Gilda's Club South Florida
• Second Chance Society

By investing in board leadership, these organizations are helping build a stronger, more resilient nonprofit sector for Broward County.

Second Chance Society is proud to recognize Coca-Cola as an incredible employment partner committed to creating opportunities and changing lives within our community.

Recently, Coca-Cola hired one of our clients as an Order Builder, allowing him to grow both personally and professionally. Before connecting with SCS, he faced challenges navigating the job market, and his resume did not fully reflect his experience, accomplishments, and potential.

Stories like this remind us how powerful second chances can be when community partners step up and invest in people. We are grateful to Coca-Cola for believing in our clients and helping create pathways to success.

This Memorial Day, Second Chance Society remembers and honors the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

We will always remember their sacrifice and dedication.

05/21/2026

It's Throwback Thursday, and we’re reflecting on the incredible memories made at our Candlelight Gala last month as we celebrated 25 years of impact with more than 200 guests by our side.

It was an inspiring evening dedicated to supporting Second Chance Society’s mission of assisting homeless and struggling individuals by providing moral encouragement and removing material barriers to self-sufficiency.

Because of our supporters' generosity, over $30,000 was raised to help create real opportunities for men and women throughout Broward County - offering a hand up, not a handout.
