🎬✨ Remember Dolly Parton at Savor Cinema Fort Lauderdale tomorrow, Monday, September 7 with an evening of music and movie memories. A portion of all proceeds will benefit the Broward Public Library Foundation’s Children’s Book Programs.

The Broward Public Library Foundation gives away more than 10,000 books to children each year through Broward County Library programs, including the StoryBook Festival, Children’s BookFest, the Summer Learning Program and the Books ’n’ Bears at the Holidays program for disadvantaged preschoolers. Much like Dolly Parton and her Imagination Library, the Library Foundation believes there’s nothing more important than building a home library that children and parents can enjoy together.

The evening will feature a special screening of the 1982 classic The Best Little Wh******se in Texas, starring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds, along with live musical performances before the film by:

🎶James Malcolm Band — A singer, songwriter and musician whose music blends heart, soul and storytelling, drawing from his Florida roots and real-life experiences.
🎶 Morgan Maewood — An Americana folk artist raised in the Florida Everglades, whose music offers plainspoken stories of mud, fireflies, front porches, open roads and quiet evenings.

đź“ś Experience the American Revolution like never before!

Broward County Library's American Revolution: The 250th Anniversary Experience is making its final stop of the tour at North Regional/Broward College Library, and the community is invited to celebrate with an opening reception on Saturday, September 12.

This interactive traveling exhibition uses 3-D and augmented reality technology to bring defining moments of America’s founding to life—from Colonial Virginia and the Boston Tea Party to the Declaration of Independence and the final victory at Yorktown.

With easy-to-use HistoPad tablets, visitors of all ages can explore eight life-size digital recreations, meet historical figures, uncover artifacts and participate in interactive treasure hunts—all at their own pace. Developed with leading historians in partnership with the Museum of the American Revolution, the exhibition combines rigorous scholarship with immersive technology to offer a fresh perspective on the Revolutionary era.

Join the Broward County Library for a special workshop with Archivist Erin Purdy. The workshop will explore practical ways to organize, store and care for personal papers, letters and photographs. Attendees will also learn how to use the library's Digital Memory Lab to digitize family memories for free.

📜 Experience history like never before with Broward County Library’s "American Revolution: The 250th Anniversary Experience"!

This interactive traveling exhibition uses cutting-edge 3D and augmented reality technology to plunge visitors directly into the defining moments of America’s birth, from Colonial Virginia to Washington’s daring Delaware crossing and the final victory at Yorktown.

Using easy-to-use, portable HistoPad tablets, guests of all ages can explore at their own pace, interact with historical figures, track down war relics, and participate in interactive treasure hunts through 8 life-size digital recreations. Developed with leading historians, in partnership with the Museum of the American Revolution, the project combines rigorous research with cutting-edge technology to spark exploration, discovery, and renewed insight into the past. All facets of the exhibition and receptions are free; registration is required for both at each location.
