Today the Aim High Battalion got to take part in an important milestone in an NCOs career. SFC Jiles was laterally promoted to 1SG, as she prepares to assume responsibility next week, 21 January 2025 as a Battery 1SG. Congratulations, 1SG Jiles, and we look forward to your Change of Responsibility ceremony!

Hunter Friends and Family,

Please join us as we bid farewell to Command Sergeant Major Andrakowicz and we welcome Command Sergeant Major Royal.

CSM Andrakowicz served as the back-bone of our Battalion for the last 27 months. In that time he has helped reshape and mold the Soldiers, NCOs, Warrant Officers, and Officers into a well developed war fighting team. He helped lead the battalion as they deployed and re-deployed from a 9 month deployment, spread across three continents. His steadfast dedication and commitment to his Hunter family was crucial to the units success through countless field training exercises and tribulations of the unit.

We are excited to welcome CSM Royal, who previously served as our Battalion Operations Sergeant Major. We are excited to have him continue as a crucial member of our team, and look forward to watching his leadership and guidance continue to progress our unit and take us to new levels of success.

What an amazing start to the week for the Hunter Battalion!

Today we had the honor to promote four outstanding NCOs of the Aim High Family!

Staff Sergeant Williams was promoted to Sergeant First Class.

Sergeant Angier was promoted to Staff Sergeant.

Corporal Crawford was promoted to Sergeant.

Corporal Olson was promoted to Sergeant.

These outstanding Non-Commissioned Officers are a strong part of our back-bone in 1-62 and continue to excel everyday, ensuring they take care of our Soldiers and our mission!

Hunter Family and friends,

1-62 ADA Battalion will be holding a memorial service Thursday, August 29th at 1330, at the Spirit of Fort Hood Chapel to honor and remember Sergeant First Class Jeffrey Rich.

SFC Rich served in our Battalion as a 91Z, Senior Maintenance Supervisor. He also served as our Battalion Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC).

In his free time he enjoyed traveling with friends, jamming to good music, and just hanging out and having a good time with others.

On Friday the 23rd of August the Berserker Battery said farewell to CPT Justin Gilbert as he reliqueshed his command of Bravo Battery and welcomed CPT DeVon Lewis.

CPT Gilbert honorably served as the Bravo Battery Commander for 1 year, 8 months. He successfully deployed and redeployed his Battery to and from the CENTCOM AOR for a 9 month deployment. We wish him and his family the best of luck in his future endeavors.

The Hunter Battalion welcomes CPT Lewis and his family to the team. We are eager to work with CPT
Lewis, and can not wait to see where he leads his Battery.

We are proud to announce that the 1-62 Battalion conducted a transfer of authority ceremony with the 5-7 ADA Battalion, marking the end of an incredible mission. The Aim High Battalion assumed this mission on 20 October 2023 and has since conducted Air and Missile Defense (AMD) operations to deter regional aggression and defend EUCOM critical assets from AMD threats.

Saluting SPC Verdorn’s Quick Action

SPC Verdorn exemplified true heroism when he sprang into action at a moment’s notice to weld a container for Delta Battery. With the help of Mr. Browning and CPT Vu and with incredible speed and efficiency, he gathered the necessary tools and patched the hole, making the container seaworthy for the Aim High Battalion’s redeployment.

Your swift response and skill are truly commendable, SPC Verdorn. Thank you for being a hero in the Hunter Battalion!
