Last week, Animal Company had its first cohort of leaders complete the CBRN Response Enterprise (CRE) Responder-Basic Course. The company learned about hazmat classes, decontamination procedures, accident response, and operations of the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).

Happy Friday 87th! A little update for those out of the loop: 87th CEC-A has stayed busy since returning from NTC back in late June, coming off of 2 weeks of block leave and rolling straight into change of command inventories soldiers are feeling well rested, well trained, and ready to engage in the companies new mission set. Check out our soldiers engaging in Land Navigation classes, 9-line and Combat Casualty Care classes, and radio etiquette and familiarization. The 4th of July SFRG event was also a hit, we decided to give back to our nations heroes with a free lunch! 🇺🇸🦅

Goodbye SGT Mesa, Hello SSG Mesa! Our newest Staff NCO is proud to serve animal company, and he’s been a key contributor to the success of second platoon and 87th CEC-A as a whole. SSG Mesa is joined by his girlfriend and her mom who came out to show support, along with all of animal company! We couldn’t be prouder of SSG Mesa for his accomplishments while here with the company and we are excited to see how he handles his new level of responsibility and leadership.

The Animals had a busy week this week! We finished out vehicle linehaul operations, crushed a company cadence run, and had a PLT PT competition where the Roosters took home the bacon 🥓 🐓! We also had visitors from the Australian Army’s 3 CER here to learn about our breaching assets as they look to adopt them into their force. We appreciate Maj. Gscheidle and Lt.
