I recently had the opportunity to visit War Eagle Hill and see firsthand what a strong partnership between the Montana National Guard and Prickly Pear Land Trust can accomplish.

Protecting nearly 200 acres adjacent to Fort Harrison helps preserve the space we need to safely train our Soldiers and Airmen while also protecting wildlife habitat and creating opportunities for Montanans to enjoy this land.

For us, this is about readiness, but it’s also about being a good neighbor. Partnerships like this help ensure the Montana National Guard can continue to train and remain ready to serve our state and nation while protecting the places that make Montana special.

Pretty incredible to see NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration conducting missions right here in Big Sky Country! ✈️

I had the opportunity to visit the 120th Airlift Wing and get an up-close look at NASA’s ER-2 aircraft and learn more about its mission studying wildfire smoke and other aerosols in the upper atmosphere.

Great to see our Montana Airmen and facilities supporting a unique mission with national impact. 🇺🇸

It was an honor to spend time with the Soldiers of the 631st Chemical Company in Missoula during their Annual Training.

We had the opportunity to recognize three outstanding Soldiers for their exemplary actions while supporting Exercise Northern Strike at Camp Grayling, Michigan, and present each of them with a challenge coin.

Our Montana Soldiers continue to demonstrate the professionalism, dedication and readiness it takes to answer the call wherever the mission takes them.

Great work, 631st Chemical Company🇺🇸

The strength and readiness of the 190th Chemical Reconnaissance Detachment were on full display during a recent training exercise at Limestone Hills. 💪

CSM DeBoo and I had the opportunity to get involved, serving as OPFOR for the morning...DAWGs represent!

The 190th worked through air assault operations, patrol base operations, helicopter hoist lifts, reacting to drones and complex targets before culminating in a simulated ambush. Four members of the Utah National Guard Decontamination Contingent also traveled north to train alongside our Soldiers.

I was proud to recognize SGT Burnell, SGT Anderson, SGT Whitely, SPC Maka and SPC Clark with coins for their outstanding professionalism and dedication to their craft.

I am proud to present the Soldier’s Medal to Sgt. Adam Lee for his extraordinary heroism and selfless service during the rescue of two critically injured hikers in California.

Serving as a life flight paramedic, Sgt. Lee entered hazardous mountain terrain during a severe winter storm, rappelled to reach the injured hikers and provided lifesaving medical care throughout a rescue operation that stretched more than 48 hours. When conditions were at their worst, he put the lives of others ahead of his own.

Sgt. Lee did not do this for recognition. He did it because it needed to be done.

That is The Montana Way.

Sgt. Lee, thank you for your exceptional service, and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. 🇺🇸

Great spending time with the outstanding Airmen of the 219th RED HORSE Squadron in Hawaii. Their work is making a real difference, from expanding flight line infrastructure and modernizing munitions storage facilities to supporting vehicle maintenance and logistics operations.

The quality of their work and professionalism have been so impressive that the 219th RED HORSE Squadron have been requested to return next year to continue supporting these critical engineering projects.

It was also great connecting with a Hawaii Air National Guard Airman and fellow Montana Western Bulldog. It's always good to see a DAWG out there doing great things for America.

Proud of our Airmen and the way they represent Montana wherever they serve. 🇺🇸

The Montana National Guard and Department of Military Affairs hosted the first-ever Headquarters for a Day at the 120th Airlift Wing, welcoming civic leaders and community partners for a firsthand look at how we serve Montana.

Throughout the day, attendees heard directly from leaders across the department and learned how our organizations work together to strengthen communities through military readiness, emergency response, veteran services and youth programs.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this inaugural event a success. We look forward to bringing Headquarters for a Day to communities across Montana.

Every opportunity to connect with Montana's communities is an opportunity to strengthen the partnerships that make our state stronger.

Montana Command Senior Enlisted Leader CSM DeBoo and I had the privilege of traveling to Browning for Blackfeet Youth Day 2026, where we met with local civic leaders and had the opportunity to see Montana STARBASE in action as they introduced young people to hands-on STEAM learning experiences.

It was inspiring to see so many community members come together to invest in the next generation. Events like these remind us that building relationships, supporting our youth, and working alongside our tribal communities are all part of our commitment to serving Montana.

I had the pleasure of doing some concrete work alongside the outstanding Airmen of the 219th RED HORSE Squadron during a construction project at Fort Harrison.

The 219th RED HORSE Squadron provides a unique heavy engineering capability for both Montana and our nation, building and repairing critical infrastructure, supporting contingency operations, and standing ready to respond when communities need them most.

Proud of these Airmen and the vital work they do every day in service to Montana and our country.🇺🇸
