Congratulations to the recipient of the 2026 Jessica Mae Orozco Indigenous Ethnobiologist Fellowship!

๐ŸŒฟ Bobette Haskett, โ€œMy Indigenous Perspective: How Tribal Cultural Practices Can Perpetuate Healing Mentally, Physically and Spiritually โ€ ๐ŸŒฟ Through focus groups and interviews with Tribal members, Haskett's work investigates how traditional Tribal and cultural ways - including toolmaking, hunting, fishing, plant gathering, social gatherings, and ceremonies - can play a critical role as sources of resilience and healing.

Central New Mexico Community College is offering a paid, yearlong program for individuals who want to teach in and for Native communities. The residency-based teacher preparation program integrates immersive classroom experience with specialized coursework designed to honor Indigenous knowledge systems.
