✊🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day!

Today we celebrate working people and the generations of organized labor who fought for the rights many of us take for granted: the eight-hour day, weekends, safer workplaces, better wages, overtime, benefits, and the right to organize.

These weren’t gifts from the powerful. They were won by working people standing together.

Labor is about more than the workplace - it’s about democracy. When workers have a collective voice, corporations and wealthy interests have less power to dominate our politics.

The fight isn’t over. We still need good jobs, living wages, affordable healthcare, secure retirements, and an economy that puts people before profits.

Today, we honor those who fought before us and keep organizing for those who come next.

Solidarity forever. ✊

Today is Primary Election Day! If you have not already voted by Absentee or Early Voting, you can go into your local polling location and cast a ballot for your preferred Democratic candidates!

For more information on how and where to vote today, please visit the Michigan Voter Information Center at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/

Patti and Mike's Yard Sale this year is in support of the St. Clair County Democratic Party.

We want to update you on some particulars so that it can be a huge success this year as it was last year.

In some cases, we will be correcting information that may have caused some confusion. What we are providing here is accurate:

--One, please drop off items beginning Saturday, August 1 until Tuesday, August 4.

--Two, drop your items off between 10 am and 5 pm on the days noted above.

--Three, if those times don't work, please contact Patti or Mike to make other arrangements. Please call, text, or email to let them know when you plan to show up.

--Four, this year we are asking people not to bring clothes, books, stuffed toys, etc.

Five, what we would like people to select to drop off are items such as these:
--Household items
--Décor
--Lawn and garden items
--Sporting goods
--Tools
--Kitchenware--e.g. slow cooker
--And other useful items

Be sure that all donated items are clean and priced. Do not leave it up to the hosts and volunteers to price items.
