On Saturday, the Fort Meade Law Enforcement Activity and the 2nd Military Working Dog Detachment participated in the annual Janet Hardy Memorial Scholarship fundraiser, demonstrating strong community engagement and interagency collaboration. The event featured soccer matches against local high schools, law enforcement agencies, and first responders, successfully raising funds to support scholarships for students in Harford and Cecil Counties. In honoring Janet Hardy’s passion for soccer, participants upheld her legacy through purposeful competition and service.
The Janet Hardy Memorial Scholarship Fund extends beyond financial support, serving as a platform to promote impaired driving awareness and community education. Established in remembrance of Janet, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver, the initiative reinforces the importance of responsible decision-making and proactive safety planning.
