NOTICE TO PUBLIC-Notice is hereby given that the Clay County Tax Assessor's Office will begin conducting their 3 year review as of September 2026. This is projected to last until December 2026.

1/3 of the county, along with all pre-bill mobile homes and new construction permits, will be reviewed for 2027 tax purposes.

In accordance with Georgia law (GA Code § 48-5-264.1), the Clay County Board of Assessors must notify property owners prior to making a site visit. Notice is hereby given that a representative of the appraisal staff will review and inspect properties for the current digest year. The appraisal reviews may include measuring structures, listing construction information, and photographing the subject property. Reasonable notice is also given that an onsite inspection may be required for real or personal property being returned or appealed. Property visits will be for the purpose of determining the correctness of the information contained in the county's appraisal record for the property.

County appraisers will be in a marked "Tax Assessors" vehicle, wearing a vest, and have photo identification. Please contact the Board of Assessors office @ (229)-768-2000 for more information concerning this notice.
