This morning at approximately 6:20 AM, Fort Fairfield Fire Rescue was dispatched to a fire at Lucerne Farms on the Easton Road in Fort Fairfield.

Upon arrival, crews requested mutual aid from the Easton Fire Department and Presque Isle Fire Department. Firefighters worked closely with the team at Lucerne Farms to spread out the chopped forage pile and thoroughly soak down the entire area, preventing the fire from spreading and ensuring the pile was fully extinguished.

Crews remained on scene until approximately 10:30 AM, when the area was determined to be safe and the scene was turned back over to Lucerne Farms.

We would like to thank the Easton Fire Department, Presque Isle Fire Department, and the staff at Lucerne Farms for their assistance and cooperation. The quick coordination and hard work of everyone involved helped bring the incident under control safely and efficiently.

Fire crews are currently out in the area of 40 Easton Line Rd at a working structure fire. Please stay away from the area if at all possible.

6 EMS Providers from Aroostook County, one being from our department, took part in this training. The goal is to safely transfer these specialty care patients to a facility that can properly treat patient with a HCID. It’s great to see providers stepping up to make this happen!

With the Maine Potato Blossom Festival coming to an end, I’d like to thank everyone for making this another awesome year. There is a lot of behind the scenes action that takes place to make this entire event run smoothly. I’ve helped set up a huge tent with a great group of people and employees, washed a crazy amount of cars with a bunch of our Paid Call and Career personnel, we had a huge sprinkler at the Family Fun Day, one of the largest turnouts for our Mini Muster, was amazed by the amount of people lining Presque Isle Street and Main Street for the Parade, and finished it off with the fireworks show tonight with my family.

The support we received from the community is always outstanding and what’s greater than that is the dedicated people we have on our department. Constantly showing up and representing what our department is about. Without the members of this department, it would not of gone this smooth for us. I want to thank each and every one of them for stepping up and helping me make this another great festival.

Be ready for what’s coming next year, I have no doubt it’ll be better than before!
