McDonald Army Health Center (MCAHC) is located in the Hampton roads area of Virginia, where military and local history have been entwined since the Revolutionary War. The installation (JBLE) is an amalgamation of the United States Air Force Langley Air Force Base and the United States Army Fort Eustis, which were merged on 1 October 2010. JBLE was established in accordance with congressional legis

lation implementing the recommendations of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission. Legislation ordered the consolidation of the facilities, which were adjoining, but separate military installations into a single joint base. JBLE is one of 12 joint bases formed in the United States as a result of the law. As a result of BRAC, the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, formerly housed at Fort Monroe, VA, re-located to JBLE. Col Demarcio L. Reed took command of MCAHC in June 2023. Together with 705 total staff members comprised of Active Duty Military, DA civilians, DoD civilians, contractors, Red Cross volunteers, and students, MCAHC serves an eligible population totaling 40,744 eligible beneficiaries. In addition to MCAHC, Lt. Col Reed is responsible for an outlying clinic at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story (East) Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) located at Fort Story, VA, serving active duty and their family members.

We have a critical need for blood donors! Your donation can help save lives. Join us for the McDonald Army Health Center (MCAHC) Urgent Blood Drive.

We are in special need of blood types O and A, but all types are welcome.

When: Tuesday, June 16th, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Where: McDonald AHC, 577 Sternberg Avenue, Fort Eustis, VA 23604

Walk-ins are welcome until 12:30 PM. Please remember to eat a meal, hydrate well, and bring your CAC.

As Nurseā€™s Week came to a close, McDonald Army Health Center proudly recognized the dedication, compassion, and excellence of its nursing team during a special closing ceremony.

The event opened with remarks from Deputy Commander for Nursing and Patient Services, Lieutenant Colonel Jade Snader, who highlighted the unwavering commitment nurses and medics demonstrate every day in support of patient care and medical readiness.

During the ceremony, the following team members were recognized for their outstanding service and professionalism:

Over the years, Robert Snipes, Chief of MCAHC Decision Support Team, has shared roses with mothers throughout McDonald Army Health Center as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation. His kindness reflects the spirit of gratitude we feel for every mother who balances family, service, leadership, compassion and care.
