🐾 Happy 110th Birthday to the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps! 🎂

Since June 3, 1916, these dedicated professionals have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to protect both those on two legs and four. From ensuring food safety and security for our service members worldwide to providing world-class medical care for our brave Military Working Dogs, their impact is felt every single day.

Today, we honor the veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and food safety inspectors who keep our force healthy, safe, and ready.

Thank you for 110 years of exceptional service and dedication to the mission! 🦅🐕🐈🐎

☀️ FRI-YAY? More like DON’T FRY DAY! 🍦

The Friday before Memorial Day is officially Don’t Fry Day. As we kick off the unofficial start of summer, let’s make sure the only thing getting toasted this weekend is the marshmallows!

This year alone, the American Cancer Society estimates there will be nearly 74,000 new cases of malignant melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer, and more than two million new cases of basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers in the U.S.

But the good news? It is preventable. Whether you’re hitting the beach, the trail, or just your backyard, remember the golden rule: Slip! Slop! Slap!… and Wrap! 🕶️

🛡️ How to Be Sun Smart:
▪ Slip on a shirt (preferably sun-protective clothing).
▪ Slop on broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF of 15 or higher (30 is even better).
▪ Slap on a wide-brimmed hat.
▪ Wrap on those UV-blocking sunglasses.

💡 Pro-Tips for keeping your skin UV safe:
▪ Seek Shade: Especially between 10 AM and 4 PM when UV rays are strongest.
▪ Watch the Reflection: Water, sand, and even snow can reflect UV rays, increasing your risk of a burn.
▪ Check Your Skin: Early detection is key! Keep an eye on any changing moles or new growths.

Did you know? One American dies every hour from skin cancer. Let’s change that statistic together by making sun safety a lifelong habit.

Enjoy the sunshine responsibly! ⛱️✨
