Summer is the perfect time for military teens to get connected, stay engaged, and build skills that will carry them far beyond the season. Your installation’s CYS Youth Center offers a safe, supervised, and inspiring environment where young people can grow, lead, and thrive.

From leadership programs and volunteer opportunities to STEM activities, sports, arts, and college readiness support, the Youth Center helps teens discover their strengths and build confidence. It’s also a place where friendships grow; whether reconnecting with familiar faces or meeting new peers who understand the military lifestyle.

Many of our Military Youth of the Year finalists and winners began their journey simply by showing up, getting involved, and finding mentors who believed in them. The Youth Center can open doors to scholarships, leadership pathways, and experiences that shape a teen’s future.

This summer, give your teen the chance to explore, learn, and make memories in a place designed just for them. Encourage them to stop by your garrison CYS Youth Center and see what’s waiting for them.

Dream big, military teens because Avonlea proved what’s possible.
She’s the 2025 Northeast Military Youth of the Year and the 2025 Europe Military Youth of the Year, representing USAG Italy–Vicenza CYS Services with pride, passion, and leadership.
For 10 years, Avonlea has been part of her Youth Center community, discovering her strengths, building friendships, and developing the confidence that helped her shine on the MYOY stage. Now she’s headed to Clemson University to major in Public Relations — and she’s taking everything she learned with her.
Her message to other youth says it all:
“The support and inspiration I’ve found has shaped me into a stronger, more compassionate leader.”

If you’re a military-connected youth, this could be you. Your Youth Center or Boys & Girls Club is more than a hangout, It's a launchpad. Leadership opportunities, community service, mentorship, and the chance to compete for Military Youth of the Year all start with getting involved.
Step in. Speak up. See where your journey can take you.
