Congratulations to SGT Palapa on his promotion to Sergeant this morning! Earlier this week, SGT Palapa also completed the Basic Leader Course (BLC).

Today our Mountain Sappers rolled up their pant legs and sleeves, put on life vests and conducted a helocast training off of a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at the Black River Bay near Sackets Harbor, New York. Engineers use helocasting to collect information on waterways or beaches in order to prepare obstacle clearance, wet-gap crossings or other amphibious operations.

During CSM Johnson's visit to Fort Bliss, TX, our Mountain Sappers from the Forward Support Company showcased and demonstrated fabrication welding techniques to create a crow's foot. The crow's foot is a component made of three metal pieces, engineered to securely hold concertina wire for barrier reinforcement missions. This occurred during his visit to Fort Bliss, Texas, Sept. 10, 2025. JTF-SB executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border. Patriots Day Cleanup at Fort Bliss Veterans Cemetery. Over 50 Mountain Sappers helped clean headstones and beautify the hallowed grounds of our fallen.

Our Mountain Sappers showcased remarkable physical and mental agility during the Expert Physical Fitness Assessment, a testament to their preparation for the upcoming E3B. We extend our gratitude to the Soldiers and Leaders who facilitated the event, enabling our Mountain Sappers to ready themselves for the assessment.

Congratulations to SFC Mendoza on completing the Master Leader Course. The MLC cultivates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, expands knowledge of Army and joint doctrine, and educates leaders to function effectively in complex, ambiguous environments. It is a required component of the Senior Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System, necessitating completion after the Senior Leader Course and before the Sergeants Major Course.

63rd CEC-I, The Herd, been crushing it at JRTC 25-10. They just finished a defense that controlled the enemy advance through multiple corridors, allowing 2-10 MTN to decisively control the battle space. Offensive operations will be the culminating effort, shoot em in da face!
