Spartans participated in a Company 9/11 commemorative stair climb at the Watertown Thompson Park steps. Never forget 09/11/01.

"Every year, thousands of first responders around the country participate in 9/11 Stair Climbs, climbing or walking the equivalent of 110 stories, or 2,200 steps, often in full firefighting gear.

It is not a race.

Each stair climb participant is making the trek in honor of the 343 FDNY members who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, as 110 stories were the height of each World Trade Center building."

Today, Spartan Company C/7th BEB, 1BCT, 10MTN dominated the local Alpine environment. The Company conducted expeditionary retransmission training at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry Ranger School in the Alpine environment near Cranberry Lake, NY.

This training is important to build a unique Alpine culture within the way Signal Soldiers provide tactical radio support to the warfighter. By conducting this exercise beyond Fort Drum, the Spartan Company tested its Soldiers ability to both dominate in unknown terrain by using SINGARs radios and think outside the box by conducting beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) high frequency (HF) communications over 44 miles back to Fort Drum.

We also conducted a reenlistment ceremony at the Cathedral Rock overlook for SPC Welch, SPC Yang and SPC Huinker as they take the next step in their Army careers!

Thank you to SUNY ESF 7th BEB, 1BCT, 10th MTN DIV 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division 10th Mountain Division for making this unique training opportunity possible for our Soldiers.

Spartan Company took advantage of the free bowling night Fort Drum BOSS provided for single soldiers at Pine Plains Bowling alley on post. It was a great way for the company to get together and prepare for the upcoming commander's cup bowling competition! Shout out to SPC Bates for coordinating the event and ensuring maximum participation.

C Company closed out the year with our Company SFRG Holiday Party (cookie decorating) and a private viewing of Dr Seuss' "How the Grinch stole Christmas" - 2000. Special thanks to those who assisted with setting up, our SFRL, and BN S6 LT Cotto for attending. Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday season!

Mission Complete. C Company's support to US Army Recruiting NYC , 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division and 10th Mountain Division concluded with the Queens veterans observance parade along metropolitan avenue. Special thanks to NYPD Highway Patrol NYPD Highway 2 NYPD Highway Patrol 3 for getting us there and back again safely. Thank you to CK Campus for appreciating our soldiers during your observance ceremony, inviting us to your campus, and providing a free meal to each 10th Mountain Division Soldier.

C Company Command Team led the 10th Mountain Division Parade Team (comprised of Soldiers from 1-88, 2-22, 7BEB, and 91st MPs) through the NYC Veterans Parade in support of US Army Recruiting Command US Army Recruiting NYC . Happy Veterans Day to all those who have served and those who are still serving at home and overseas.
