Our Functional Fitness instructor, Traci, has come put together a few simple tips to make sure you are getting the most out of your workouts as safely and as efficiently as possible. We are back! Because of the closure at Magrath Sports Complex, we also spent two weeks out of office, but we are excited to be back in action! If you are participating in our New Year, New Shoes challenge, be sure to keep us updated on your progress. We already have two finishers that have taken all 300,000 steps! Keep an eye on our page as we get back into the swing of things and work to bring as many new opportunities to you as possible!

Every Wednesday in January we are posting a Would You Rather Wednesday workout video! Each video has a specific theme; for instance, today's video is Sweet vs Savory. You will be given two options on screen, a sweet option on the left and a savory option on the right. You have 4 seconds to make your decision. The next thing you see will be two exercises. One person will be doing exercises on the left side of the screen and the other person will be doing different exercises on the right side of the screen. If you chose the sweet option on the left, you will do the exercise on the left and vice versa. We recommend you watch the video all the way through, writing down your workout as it is revealed before you start.

Today, you will be given 5 exercises. Do each exercise for 1 minute with no rest. You will do 5 full minutes of work, then rest 1 minute. Go through as many times as desired.

These exercises can be scaled up or down by adding more or less equiment. Enjoy!

Do you know that it is recommended that we get 150 minutes of exercise each week? We can get that recommendation easily by just committing to walk 30 minutes a day 5 days a week. There are so many health benefits to walking, and these are just some of them. This month, we are encouraging our followers to commit to taking 300,000 steps in January. It's not too late to get involved. If you are interested, go over to our New Year, New Shoes event and click that you are going. Track your steps, be one of the first ten to hit 300,000 and win a prize!
