Breacher conducted a Squad PT competition today.

All squads that participated demonstrated grit and determination, and have built a more cohesive team and squad. But at the end of the day, there can only be one winner. 1st Squad, 1st PLT “Savages” relinquished the coveted Breacher picket pounder to 1st Squad, 2nd PLT “Dirt Devils”, the winners of today’s competition. Congrats to them, and hopefully they can maintain their standard of excellence through the next squad competition!

Breacher Company said farewell to 1LT Collins. He served as our 3rd Platoon “Bad Batch” Platoon Leader, and most recently as our Executive Officer. His work ethic and presence will be sorely missed. We wish him good luck as he moves onto Engineer CPT’s Career Course, and in his future assignment.

“Be an example to your men, in your duty and in private life. Never spare yourself and let your troops see that you don’t in your endurance of fatigue and privation. Always be tactful and well-mannered. Avoid excessive sharpness or harshness of voice, which usually indicates the man who has shortcomings of his own to hide.”
– German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel

On December 14th, 2023, Breacher company changed command from the outgoing commander, CPT Lang, and the incoming commander, CPT Negri.

To CPT Lang, thank you for your dedication to excellence, subordinate trust, and development of your Soldiers. Your impact is one that many Soldiers and Leaders will not quickly forget. We wish you and your family luck in your future assignments at Fort Irwin, CA.

To CPT Negri, you have already been setting a positive example for the Company, and we look forward to direction in which you will lead us. We welcome you and your family into Breacher with open arms.

October has been a busy month for Breacher!

1st Platoon “Savages” completed Live Fires in support of 1-32 Infantry Battalion. These Sappers completed 27 iterations, which enhanced the lethality of our sister Battalion.

2nd Platoon “Dirt Devils” had two outstanding Soldiers Graduate from Air Assault School. SPC Shaw and SGT Nantz distinguished themselves amongst their peers, with SGT Nantz earning the title of Honor graduate. Additionally, SPC Carner and CPL Silver earned their promotable status to SGT. The last month has been eventful for Breacher.

As always, our Sappers are always improving their foxhole. Soldiers of the company recently added an Engineer castle to our walls, fostering esprit de corps amongst our troops.

The last Foundational Training Day, led by our XO LT Collins, included a short company “boots and ‘utes” run and an obstacle course. The subjects covered included SHARP and winterization training.

2nd Platoon “Dirt Devils” supported 3rd BCT, 10th Mountain Division at JRTC as the Opposing forces. Our Dirt Devils did an outstanding job providing realistic training to the Patriot Brigade, and received commendation from the JRTC leadership for their efforts. Also, a shoutout to SGT Therrien for being named the OPFOR Hero of the Battle for his actions during the rotation.

3rd Platoon “Bad Batch” conducted mounted gunnery for their weapons platforms, validating all crews that participated. Their expertise has enhanced the route clearance and engineer reconnaissance capabilities for the Warrior Brigade.

1st Platoon “Savages” welcomed SPC Johnson back from Ranger and Airborne. We are happy to have him back, and can’t wait to see him succeed and elevate his Squad to even higher places.

Additionally, the Savages sent their second squad to Romania with Battle Company, 1-32 Infantry Battalion in support of SARMIS 23. While there to conduct mountain and alpine training, they are also helping bolster partner nation relationships and capabilities.

Company conducted Team and Squad Live Fires. The purpose is to validate teams and squads for for training events further on down the line, build confidence in ourselves and our Soldiers, and conduct realistic training that replicates combat scenarios. 100% of our teams and squads that participated got validated and ready for the next step in the training progression. Great job to them!

Last, but definitely not least, LT Barr (3rd Platoon Leader) was promoted to 1LT. He has been an integral part of the Company through the training cycle, and look forward to everything he will accomplish as we move forward. Congratulations to him!

Our Breachers consistently demonstrate that they are the best Engineer Soldiers in the 10th Mountain Division and make a difference at home and abroad. They are ready for anything, at any time, anywhere.

“Not for the weak or faint hearted”

SPC Johnson distinguished himself by graduating from Ranger School today. Ranger School is a 64-day course that is physically and mentally challenging. Regarded as the Army’s premier leadership school, SPC Johnson endured many sleepless and hungry days and nights while learning and executing small unit tactics. We look forward to his return after he completes Airborne school, and the leadership and mentorship he will offer his Platoon and Company. Big congrats to him and all of his accomplishments.

Below, SPC Johnson is pictured with some of his fellow 10th Mountain Division Ranger buddies, Major General Brian Mennes, the 18th Airborne Corps DCG and former 10th Mountain Division Commanding General, and his Ranger Training Company.

Breacher ended the week with a best squad competition. Squads moved a 135 # litter and 2 x 40 # water cans over 2.5 miles with -10 level Soldier tasks mixed into their route. 1st Squad, 1st Platoon (Savages) was not only the only squad to complete all tasks to standard, but they also completed the course in the fastest time. Congrats to them for setting the standard, and pushing their counterparts.

Breacher conducted EST to build confidence and competence in their weapons systems.

Lastly, we would like to recognize PFC Duran, PFC Gonzalez, SGT Mendoza (1st Platoon “Savages”), SPC Campbell, SPC Carner, SPC Nantz (2nd Platoon “Dirt Devils”), PFC Owens, and PFC Alvarez (3rd Platoon “Bad Batch”) completed Basic Combatives Course. These Soldiers have gone above and beyond, and we look forward to them sharing their knowledge with the rest of Breacher!

Breacher said farewell to SPC Halpin and his wife Mia. SPC Halpin has been an integral part of 1st Platoon (Savages) and 2nd Platoon (Dirt Devils) throughout his time here. From firing a MICLIC, conducting breaches, live fires, Engineer Qulification Tables and a deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, his presence and leadership is one that will be missed. We wish him and his wife good luck at Fort Cavazos, TX!

Breacher Company came back from leave and hit the ground running.

7th BEB H2F professional Jeff led platoons through a nutrition and exercise science block of instruction, making our Soldiers and Leaders better at planning and executing physical training.

1st PLT conducted SAM-T training. This training simulation tactical situations at the buddy team and team levels, preparing them for those LFX’s in the future.

The entire company conducted an M4 qualification range. Breacher Soldoers are now better trained and confident to put rounds on target with their assigned weapon system.

Lastly, we said goodbye to two phenomenal NCOs. SFC Santos (2nd PLT PSG) and SGT Woodard (1st PLT TL). These two alone had impacts on the individual Soldier and the company as a whole that will be hard to find as we move forward. We wish them and their families good luck in their future endeavors, both heading to Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
