Hey Fort Dodge! We will be out at Hy-Vee Saturday, Sunday and Monday to for the Muscular Dystrophy Association!

Come out and donate what you can to this great cause, and help fund research into treatments and cures for these horrible neuromuscular diseases! Money raised is also used to send children to Camp Courageous in Monticello every summer, a camp built especially for children with disabilities.

All donations go directly to the MDA. Come out and see us this weekend, and help us Fill The Boot!

At this months union meeting, we swore in another member to Local 622. Jackson Allen started working on Brown shift a little over a month ago, so welcome him to the Fort Dodge community!

This evenings City Council meeting was eventful for Fort Dodge Fire. We officially appointed 4 members into promotions. Tom Ubben was promoted to Captain on Black shift, Andy Midtling was promoted to lieutenant on Black shift as well. Kyle Porter was appointed to the HazMat Team Coordinator, and his brother, Kasey Porter, was appointment as an Assistant Fire Mechanic. Both of the Porter boys will remain in their respective firefighter roles as well as their new roles. Congratulations to all four of you on your hard earned promotions.
The city also honored (almost) retired Captain Steve Teske with an official proclamation for his distinguished commitment to the Fort Dodge Fire Department and the city of Fort Dodge. Captain Teske, we wish you a very well deserved retirement and look forward to you stopping by the station from time to time!

Shoutout to Eric Doyle of Doyle Construction for assisting us in digging our Trench Rescue Prop. Trench rescue is one of the many skills Fort Dodge Firefighters need to be proficient in.

Black Shift made the most of Saturday’s beautiful weather! The crew spent the day enhancing the firehouse grounds by installing fresh landscape edging and applying new mulch around the station. Their hard work helps keep our department looking professional and welcoming while taking pride in the place we call home. Great work, Black Shift!
