The 174th Infantry Brigade operates two active duty battalions at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst: 1st Battalion, 307th Stryker Regiment, and 1st Battalion, 314th Infantry Regiment. Bring the Hammer!!!

Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 174th Infantry Brigade, conducted a change of command ceremony where Capt. Emerson Rainey, relinquished his command to Capt. Megan Magoon at the Fort Dix Museum, Joint Base Mcguire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, May 28, 2026. Magoon, a native, was previously assigned to the 1st Battalion, 315th Brigade Support Battalion “Liberty” and was recommended to take command for her outstanding leadership and discipline. HHC welcomes Magoon as the newest member of the Hammer family.

Philadelphia’s Own!!!

Master Sgt. Victor Escalera Jr., assigned to 1st Battalion, 315th Brigade Support Battalion, retires after 24 years of honorable service in a ceremony held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 13, 2026. Escalera enlisted in 2002, and performed above and beyond throughout his 24 years and through five combat operations. We wish him and his family the best of luck as they transition to the next chapter of life.

The 1-315 BSB "Liberty" Commander, Lieutenant Colonel. Craig Iwen and Capt. Warren Bischoff with the SPO team presented Lieutenant Col. Garret Bell and the 84th Training Command, Mission Training Complex, with a plaque in recognition for their outstanding support to First Army, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.

Their unwavering support enabled First Army to execute critical pre-mobilization culminating training events for two Regional Support Groups, directly strengthening readiness across our partner units in preparation for their upcoming deployments.

Extending partner support across the pond! 🇺🇸🌍🇩🇪
Soldiers from the 1-315th Brigade Support Battalion, “Liberty,” recently returned from Grafenwöhr, after providing OC/T support during the 83rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion’s culminating training event.
Through strong partnership and expert mentorship, the Liberty team helped create a realistic and challenging training environment—ensuring the 83rd CSSB is ready to support Operation Atlantic Resolve.

Adapting exercises to the mission!

The 1-307th Infantry Regiment "Barbarians" led the charge in running the post mobilization culminating training event for the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team - Mountain as they prepared to take over the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine mission, at U.S. Army Fort Bliss.

WEATHER UPDATE: ROAD CONDITION BLACK. JB MDL is currently under road condition Black due to heavy snow accumulation. The road conditions are extremely hazardous due to ice, snow, high winds, heavy precipitation or reduced visibility. Only those required by their Commander and/or Director to report for duty are authorized to drive on base. Drivers must exercise extreme caution when reporting for duty.
