Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend; it is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the courage of those who gave everything to protect it.

As we spend time with family and friends, let us never forget the heroes who are no longer with us and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

From the USAWOA Doughboy Silver Chapter, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day as we honor our fallen heroes.

This morning, members of the USAWOA Doughboy Silver Chapter, along with our supporters came together to complete the Murph Challenge in honor of our nation’s fallen heroes.

The Murph Challenge is a Memorial Day tradition named after LT Michael P. Murphy, a U.S. Navy SEAL who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005, during Operation Red Wings. LT Murphy was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his extraordinary courage and sacrifice. The workout, one of his favorite training sessions, has since become a nationwide tribute to all service members who gave their lives defending our freedom.

Today’s event was more than just a workout it was a reminder of sacrifice, resilience, brotherhood, and the true meaning of Memorial Day. Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and helped make this event a success.
We remember the fallen. We honor their legacy. We will never forget.

The Doughboy Silver Chapter conducted its first Highway Cleanup of the year this weekend, continuing our commitment to community service and stewardship throughout Joint Base MDL and the surrounding areas. A special thank you to our Vice President, CW3 Gonzalez, for leading from the front and organizing a successful event. We also appreciate the support from the New Jersey Command Chief Warrant Officer, CW5 Tossas, for volunteering alongside our members and setting the example for service beyond the uniform.

It was great to see future Warrant Officers and junior volunteers joining the effort as they earned community service hours while giving back to the community. Events like these demonstrate what the Warrant Officer Cohort is all about; leadership, mentorship, teamwork, and service.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made a positive impact. This is only the beginning of another great year of serving our community together. Join us next month, Saturday June 13 for our next cleanup.
