On Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, at 6:00 pm. The city of Fort Collins will be holding a hearing on the proposed 250 bed homeless shelter. The shelter would be located at the west end of Hibdon Court. This would be a 24/7 homeless shelter with partial 2- story 41,644 sq. ft. building. It would potentially have up to 250 beds, a kitchen and dining area, laundry, offices, outdoor amenity space and parking. The North Fort Collins Business association has come out against this "World Class" shelter being located in the middle of the North College corridor. It has taken the position of "if you build it, they will come" and inviting large numbers of homeless individuals to Fort Collins is not the type of traffic that the association would find desirable.
Your attendance and input on the matter at the City's hearing would be appreciated as everyone who would be impacted should have a voice.
The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 300 Laporte Avenue. Virtual meeting information (for those who would like to participate through zoom) will be posted 48 hours prior to the meeting at fcgov.com/developmentreview/proposals
