While Fort Carson was out of the office due to the winter storm, 4th Engineer Battalion (Official) and Beast FSC were in the Fort Carson Training Area. We were prohibited from going out on the road but used the opportunity to get some good training!

Classes included SHARP (SSG Letts), EO (SFC Matthews), MRT (1SG Peoples), Night Drivers Training (SSG Hernandez & SSG Maasjo), Like-to-like recovery (SSG Gonzalez & SGT Nuno), ECWCS (SGT Templin), Transfer a HIPPO to/from a trailer (1SG Bates & SSG Hernandez), HIPPO function (SPC Yi), Radio etiquette (SSG Alvarado), Use of chains and binders (SSG Driver), Ammunition documentation (SSG Hernandez), Operating a generator (CPL Ellis), and a finance class (LTC Meier).

Big thanks to the NCOs and Soldiers for being flexible and putting together some great training when the weather altered the plan!

Check out what we’ve been up to this last quarter! We had a busy quarter and made a lot of good progress by organizing our foot print on post, training during the FSC FTX, and spending time with family and friends over Holiday Block Leave.

Before enjoying the weekend with family and friends, Beast FSC accomplished some great things out in the field during an 8 day FTX!

These Soldiers and leaders showed urgency with attention to detail when they were alerted and deployed to the Ft Carson training area. Out there the NCOs delivered thorough training on Soldier tasks such as evaluating a casualty and calling in a 9-line MEDEVAC, using camouflage, field sanitation, classes and evaluations on five different weapons systems, land navigation, creating a deliberate fighting position, and vehicle operations in the field.

Well done Beasts! This was a fantastic learning experience for all who were involved!

On May 2nd, the Beasts completed the MURPH! The Murph is a workout commemorative to Navy Seal Mike Murphy, who would complete this workout every day.

In order, it’s a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another 1-mile run, all completed while wearing a 20-lbs vest with plates!

In mid-April, our Soldiers executed sustainment gunnery to standard! After months of train-up, we validated that they are lethal in a vehicle. They can suppress an enemy, react to a CBRN and IED threat, and send up a 9-line MEDEVAC request in day or night conditions. Great work Beast Soldiers!

Hello Beasts and Beast supporters!

Over the past 9 months the FSC in 4E has completed so many things to be proud of and the next several post will show a snippet of what the Beast Soldiers have accomplished.

In February, Beast FSC deployed to a field environment for two weeks where they dug fighting positions, defended the base from an opposing force, completed multiple distribution missions, conducted several vehicle services, recovered a few vehicles, and trained hard every day in the frigid environment! We couldn’t be more proud of how these Soldiers performed!
