Fun fact Wednesday:

Coldsteel Company, part of the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment (1-327 IN), has a notable historical fact related to its combat experience in World War II. During the Battle of Okinawa, the company was involved in some of the most grueling and fierce fighting of the Pacific Theater. The regiment, known for its valor, was heavily engaged in the battle for the Shuri Line, a crucial defensive position held by Japanese forces. The company's tenacity and bravery during this battle were significant in breaking through the Japanese defenses and contributing to the eventual Allied victory in the Pacific.

Our Company had a busy and hard night this passed Wednesday! It was an honor being one of the top five companies in the division competing this year! Results to come at the conclusion of the Week of the Eagles!!

For 8 days COLDSTEEL along side our sister company ABU established deliberate defensive fighting position while filling in as OPFOR. As expect our Soldier fought the fight and won! Many lessons learned and we will continue to utilize these training experiences in preparation for our next fight!

Today, Coldsteel leaders conducted the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment "Bulldogs" Mungadai, building teamwork and trust through shared hardship.

During the event, each leader carried a Greenbay Packers jersey in honor of SSG Michael Cable — a diehard Packers fan — who was tragically killed in the Shinwar District of Afghanistan 9 years ago.

His memory and contributions to our nation are never forgotten.

Today, Coldsteel paused to appreciate and remember the service and sacrifice of SSG Gregson Gourley, SGT Rickey Jones, PFC Christopher Marion, and PFC Allan Morr as we conducted the OPFOR mission supporting and preparing the Strike Brigade as 1-509 OPFOR at JRTC.

We proudly carry their memory and legacy with us through this mission as well as every other.

Coldsteel Squads conducted a memorial squad competition honoring SSG Ricky Jones, SGT Dennis Flanagan, and SGT Clifton Yazzie, navigating an obstacle course, treating a casualty, and answering questions about our fallen.

Congratulations to SSG Booth (2PLT) and his Squad for winning the competition!

Today, C Company "Coldsteel", 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment honored the service of SSG Ricky Scott, SGT Dennis Flanagan, and SPC Clifton Yazzie, who tragically died while serving in Iraq 16 years ago.

Tomorrow, we will celebrate their legacy and sacrifice with a Squad Competition.
