It’s been the honor of a lifetime to serve as Phantom06 for the past 16 months. I started this page to showcase all of our incredible maintainer/crew chiefs, pilots, and Soldiers .. and now confidently hand the reigns over to the next Commander, who is more than ready to take our team to the next level.

I’m truly humbled by the outreach of support and well-wishes; the phantom phamily network is nothing short of remarkable - thank you all.

I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on the challenges of Command, and one of my greatest realizations is: how fortunate I am, to have had leaders at every echelon who genuinely empowered our team to succeed. Clear vision, relentless encouragement, and underwriting my mistakes allowed the Phantoms to push further, train harder, and ultimately - meet every mission (and then some) in a combat environment.

I can’t tell you how proud I am of this team. These Soldiers are legitimately the finest our Nation has to offer, and they have broken the mold of expectations for a flight company. Here’s just a brief recap of what they accomplished:

-JRTC 24-05 (crushed it)
-Support to the President of the United States, flying chase with staff and secret service.
-3x discrete Long-Range, Large Scale Air Assaults
-Critical support to FEMA in Western North Carolina
-6x non-commissioned officer promotions
-2x commissioned officer promotions
-3x Warrant Officer promotions
-5x new Baby phantoms (children born to our soldiers)
-6x silver spur holders
-AMR Support to the Chief of Staff of the Army
-Strategic Outreach from Michigan to North Carolina
-Operation Lethal Eagle
-Deployment to CENTCOM

While standing on the soldiers of giants, we’ve made the most of a hallmark year. I hope we made you proud - but the Phantoms aren’t done yet… we’re just around the corner from our next Rendezvous with Destiny.

Soldier spotlight! 💪🇺🇸🦅

The 101st Combat Aviation Brigade is filled with many skilled Soldiers, one of them being Specialist Lane Hudson. A native of Kent, Ohio, Hudson has been in the Army for two years. He is a 15T UH-60 Blackhawk Repairman and crew chief in Charlie Co. 5-101, 5th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment "Eagle Assault", 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

“I feel like my job is important to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade because doing maintenance on Blackhawks to keep them operational is a mission essential task for us,” said Hudson. “It is also very rewarding to be a part of the crew, they are almost like a second family for me. I like being in this unit, we are one of the best aviation units in the Army and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
