Lt. Col. Tanya Payne, commander of the 526th Light Support Battalion, 101st Division Sustainment Brigade, hosted a redesignation ceremony marking the unit’s transition from a Brigade Support Battalion to a Light Support Battalion under Army Structure 2030, June 15, 2026, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The ceremony symbolized a significant transformation as the battalion officially reflagged its subordinate companies, aligning its capabilities to support large-scale combat operations and multidomain warfare.

“As the Army transforms for future conflicts, the Soldiers of the 526th carry forward a legacy of innovation, adaptability and selfless service,” Payne said. “From Normandy to today’s missions, that legacy continues to define who we are.”

The redesignation reinforces the Army’s commitment to building agile, lethal and responsive sustainment formations in support of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

New unit designations include:

- Delta Company
- Echo Company

His commitment to Soldiers, mission readiness, and sustaining combat operations contributed significantly to the success of the brigade and the broader Army mission.

The 101st Division Sustainment Brigade extends its gratitude to Bowman for more than two decades of selfless service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the nation. His impact on the Soldiers he led and mentored will continue to be felt throughout the formation long after his retirement.

Soldiers from the 526th Light Support Battalion hosted an NCO Induction Ceremony on June 6, 2026, recognizing the Army’s next generation of Noncommissioned Officers — leaders who embody excellence, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the mission.

Command Sgt. Maj. Max Jean-Philippe, command sergeant major of the 101st Division Sustainment Brigade, served as the guest speaker, reinforcing the critical role NCOs play as the standard-bearers of leadership and the driving force behind readiness across the force.

The ceremony highlighted the proud legacy of the NCO Corps — a tradition built on professionalism, accountability, and the responsibility to lead, train, and care for Soldiers. NCOs are not only leaders of today but the foundation of tomorrow’s Army.

During the session, leaders reviewed incoming and outgoing personnel, aligning talent with mission requirements to ensure the right Soldiers are placed in the right positions. These deliberate human resources decisions directly support readiness, sustainment operations and overall unit effectiveness.

By prioritizing talent management and leveraging experience across formations, brigade leadership continues to build cohesive, high-performing teams capable of sustaining operations in any environment.

Soldiers from the 101st Division Sustainment Brigade participated in an awards ceremony and 5K run promoting the mental fitness domain of the Army’s Health and Holistic Fitness (H2F) program, May 29, 2026, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Before the run, Col. Joshua Porter, brigade commander, recognized team coaches and captains who won events during the Week of the Eagles competition.

The brigade also celebrated excellence in petroleum operations. The U.S. Army Petroleum Excellence Award for best fuel and water section was presented to the brigade support operations (SPO) section, while Chief Warrant Officer 2 Damien Drake was recognized as the Army’s top individual performer in the field.

Following the run, Soldiers engaged with interactive stations focused on improving mental readiness, including stress management, sleep education, emotional resilience and life preservation.
