I will perform my duty by representing and serving my community.

I will listen to my communities thoughts, message and will. And I will uphold my end of representing my community's interest. My intention will be to share local articles and information for voting in local elections. There will of course be some national news as well if it could have an impact on our local issues. I will share my thoughts and stances in the comments. However, I work for my consti

tuents (you) and while a Precinct Committeeman doesn't exercise their voice for the people often, I can assure you that I'll be working hard for my community and explaining and deliberating when the time comes. In the meantime, please feel free to message me directly or ask questions in the comments. I will not tolerate a lack of civility towards one another - exchanges are fine, but keep it civil or go off-line. That all said, I'm excited to have this up and running and looking forward to the next four years as your Precinct Committeeman.

For those who do not know me well, I'd like to share my political philosophies and stances;

Milton Friedman Libertarian - Fiscal Conservative; Socially Accepting
Republitarian (Republican/Libertarian Mutt)

I believe the federal government was created and exist for five purposes;
1. Preserve the Peace/Defend the Country
2. Provide a mechanism whereby individual can adjudicate their disputes/Justice
3. Protect individuals from being coerced by other individuals/Safety
4. Promote equal opportunity for all ("Promote" not "Provide")
and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity
5. Protect your inalienable rights as established in the Declaration of Independence


What is the purpose of Government

- Let's review the founding father's words -

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness – That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Eds, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institutes new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." "We the people, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." I prefer Republicans in office but don't consider myself a “Republican” as I don’t like labeling and grouping individuals into categories

Slogans I live by;
“You do you, so long as you do not harm others”
“Teach a man to fish - don't just give him a fish”
“Provide equal opportunity, do not force equal outcome”
“Your liberties end when you intrude on others’ liberties”

Pro
- Free Market Capitalism – It's fair and ethical that if you provide a product or service that is in demand, you are rewarded for it. People can “vote with their dollar” if you provide an equitable service.

- Human Rights – When the government came in and sanctioned marriages, they over-stepped bounds by not separating church and state. They gave tax deductions to those whom are married and power of attorney to spouses in times of crisis. It is a human right to be allowed to choose who you live your life with and while I am a Christian, I do not believe we live in a religious monarchy.

- Welfare Reform – It is too easy to abuse government handouts. I fully support the idea of welfare and a “safety net” to help those in need and I know there are those that need it, but our current system is too lenient and easy to abuse.

- Reciprocity – This is more complicated as I believe individual states can and fairly should have their own laws but a few examples of what needs to be universally accepted; in Indiana with a conceal and carry permit for a personal firearm you can store a gun in your car. If you go on a road trip and get pulled over in some states that don't honor your permit you can be charged with a felony! And a more personal issue, Kentucky is one of only 9 states in the US where everyone carries their titles to cars. So, if you move to Kentucky and have a lean holder - good luck getting the title - it's an uphill battle! These sorts of laws need to be universal!

- Bringing the Troops Home – Yes, we need to honor our foreign treaties, but we should not act the world's police force. Other nations choosing to live their lives differently are not wrong but different and it's time we set a higher standard. I don't believe we should never engage nor that we shouldn't be in some places we are, but I do believe we've a history of overdoing and overstepping.

- Tax Reform – I am for either a “Flat Tax” for individuals and businesses where everyone with no exceptions pays the same rate with no write-offs. We should not be subsidizing the cost of running your business. Or a “Fair Tax” where the taxes on products and services are clearly marked in a final price and those who can afford the more luxurious items are thereby agreeing to providing additional percentages of funding for the governments use. Our current tax system is a disincentive to earning more as you are forced to fund additional gains to the government without receiving additional services – that’s called stealing.

- Budgeting – It is simple accounting; do not spend money you do not have. Our government has spending out of control by fulfilling grandiose campaign promises that cost more than we can feasibly collect/tax from the people. Our budgets every year should start off at $0 – yes ZERO – and be assessed as what is needed to provide safety, security and liberty to the people. My duties include;
Political party leader
· Party spokesman
· Conducts meetings
· Helps to recruit candidates
· Assists candidates with their campaigns
· Fund-raiser
· Works with other officers to set an annual budget
· Responsible for holding caucuses to fill local ballot vacancies
· Responsible for holding caucuses to fill local office vacancies
· Serve as a liaison to District and State Committee officers
· Participates in programs sponsored by the State Committee
· Must comply with Statutes set forth in the Indiana Election Code, the Indiana Party Rules, Indiana Election Commission and Federal Campaign Finance Act
· Motivates and trains Precinct Committeepersons, Poll Workers, candidates and volunteers
· Responsible for making sure all party Poll Worker positions are filled
· Fills State Convention Delegate vacancies as prescribed and insures correct paperwork in filed in a timely manner
· Fills vacancies in Precinct Committeeperson and Vice-Committeeperson and submits required paperwork in a timely manner
· Update voter information in the party Data Center
· Promotes voter registration and Get Out the Vote efforts
· Acts as or identifies county contacts for State and Federal candidates
· Maintains communications within the county with Precinct Committeepersons, party faithful, candidates, officeholders and voters
· Organizes parades, festivals, and party events
· Knows the demographics of the county
· Understands issues that arise in the county
· Appoints the party member of the County Election Board and monitors the member’s work
· Is familiar with the Election Calendar and meets all deadlines
· Supports any party auxiliary organization in the county
· Attends all executive committee, county committee and district committee meetings


I will perform my duty by representing and serving my community. And I will uphold my end of representing my communities interest. I work for and serve the people, the people are who I answer to - not the other way around.
