407th SUPPORT BATTALION (AIRBORNE)
-Constituted 5 August 1917 in the National Army as 307th Supply Train, an element of the 82nd Division.
-Organized October 1917 at Camp Gordon, Georgia
-Demobilized 9 May 1919 at Camp Dix, New Jersey.
-Reconstituted 21 September 1936 in the Organized Reserves and concurrently consolidated with the 407th Quartermaster Regiment; consolidated unit designated as the 407th Quartermaster Regiment and remained assigned to the 82nd Division (Later redesignated as the 82nd Airborne Division)
-Reorganized and redesignated 13 February 1942 as 407th Quartermaster Battalion.
-Ordered into active military service 25 March 1942 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana.
-Reorganized and redesignated 15 August 1942 as 407th Airborne Quartermaster Company.
-(Organized Reserves redesignated 2 March 1948 as Organized Reserve Corps.)
-Withdrawn from the Organized Reserve Corps and designated as a Regular Army unit 15 November 1948.
-Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1957 as the 407th Supply and Transport Battalion.
-Reorganized and redesignated 25 May 1964 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 407th Supply and Transport Battalion; (82d Quartermaster Parachute Supply and Maintenance Company [activated 1 March 1945] reorganized and redesignated as Company B, 407th Supply and Transport Battalion); the remainder of Battalion constituted and activated.
-Inactivated 15 August 1965 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
-Redesignated 21 September 1974 as the 407th Supply and Service Battalion and activated at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
-Reorganized and redesignated 16 September 1987 as the 407th Supply and Transport Battalion.
-Reorganized and redesignated 16 April 1994 as the 407th Support Battalion
