And just like that it’s OCTOBER! Copperheads have been nothing short of busy the last 2 months. Since August we:
➡️Celebrated SGT Sedmak and CPL Schultz graduating the Non-Comissioned Officer Academy, with CPL Schultz making the Commandants List!
➡️Congratulated SSG Thompson and SGT Rodriguez on their well deserved promotions!
➡️Conducted the 82d DIVARTY DIVISION ARTILLERY READINESS TEST (AT XV) with a manning slate unfavorable for success. However, because your Copperheads are mastering their craft, we delivered Accurate Fires for over 60 hours with a Target Location Error of under 50 meters from impact to target. Following the exercise, COL Garry (82d DIVARTY CDR) recognized SGT Abugan and PFC Olatoye with ARCOMs for their large impacts on the batteries success during the AT XV! Congratulations, boys!

STAY READY. STAY LETHAL. STAY COPPERHEADS!

Sergeants Time Training, Payday Activities, 350-1 Training, Promotion, Farewell… what a week!

This week, your Copperheads were busy in the Motorpool and up in the Northern Training Area, taking advantage of protected training time for our NCOs to continue developing the paratroopers in our rank and file. Paratroopers bettered themselves on crew drill familiarization, practicing different methods of laying the howitzer, occupations, digital fire mission processing, and “next-man up drills!” Lots of good training across the platoons this week, as your Copperheads remain lethal on IRF1.

We rounded out the week with a DIVARTY Run as we prepare to bid farewell to COL Gibson, 82nd DIVARTY Commander (CB6) next week. As well as…good ole fashion Pay Day Activities with a block of EO training given by SFC Wade, following the run.

We took time to celebrate our 4th Section Howtizer Chief, who recently was promoted to SSG; CONGRATS SSG Dufrene!! And finally, bid farewell to SGT Nugent, a former Gunner in 6th section as he begins his PCS to Fort Carson. Good luck “up north” SGT Nugent!

As always, Charlie Battery keeps the pedal to the medal around here. Always ready!🇺🇸

SPC Vera

Recognized SPC Abugan for winning 82nd DIVARTY Soldier of the Quarter and awarded his well deserved ARCOM

Awarded 22 AAMs to paratroopers among Charlie Batteries rank and file for ensuring we could always meet the BN and BDE Commanders intent of delivering accurate and lethal fires at all times during JRTC 24-05!

Big thank you to LTC Abruzzese and CSM Swint for joining us today! (GD6 and GD9)

We would not be the battery we are today without each and every one of our paratroopers. KEEP IT UP COPPERHEADS!

ALWAYS PEDAL TO THE METAL WITH COPPERHEAD BATTERY!

First and foremost, we’d like to wish all who celebrate a Happy Mothers Day; from our family to yours!

This past week, your Copperheads spent many hours out at TT2 recertifying and qualifying AT V and VI in accordance with 82 DIVARTY REDBOOK STANDARD, to remain lethal and ready through IRF1! 108 155mm rounds later, all 6 Howitzer Sections and both Fire Direction Centers are green and ready to execute any mission at a moments notice.

We also took some time to recognize the hardwork that our Paratroopers, NCOs, and Officers put forth at JRTC in March. We thank COL Schuerger, 1BCT Commander for taking the time to come down to our footprint to award our outstanding soldiers.

COL Schuerger said it best, “We are good, but we need to get better.” And that’s what your Copperhead battery will continue to do, be better everyday.

Oh, also C5, C6, and C7 ran a Spartan 10k race! Thank you to Mrs. Pam Liebel for the T-Shirts!

FRIDAY 26 APRIL 2024 🇺🇸

After a successful airborne operation where CPT Caba (GDC6), 1SG Alvarado (GDC7), Gunny Scheibel (GDC28) and SGT Dufrene (GDC21) exited over 20 Copperhead Paratroopers from a C130J to Luzon DZ at 0300, the formation gathered again just 7 hours later for the Charlie Battery Change of Responsibility! Copperhead Battery said goodbye to 1SG Alvarado as he prepares to go down the hallway to assume responsibility of Hate Battery. While we thanked him for over a year of amazing leadership, guidance, and keeping the backbone of Charlie Battery strong and lethal, we welcomed 1SG Liebel, his wife Pam, and son Kelton to the family!

1SG Alvarado- thank you for giving this battery so much time and devotion.

1SG Liebel- welcome to the family and we are excited for you to serve as Copperhead 7!
