🌼🐝 National Pollinator Week Is Almost Here! 🐝🌼

The Fort Bragg City Council officially proclaimed next week, June 22-28, 2026, as Pollinator Week; a time to celebrate and support the bees and other pollinators that keep our community blooming.

Residents may also notice something new around town this week: Public Works crews are adding fresh native plants to several downtown flower baskets to help support local pollinators and strengthen their habitat.

Why does this matter?
🌸 Thousands of pollinator species play a crucial role in our food supply
🦋 Pollinators help keep our ecosystems healthy and diverse
🌸 Native plants support resilient green spaces
🦋 Protecting pollinators benefits our environment, economy, and quality of life

The City of Fort Bragg will be closed on Friday, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the United States learned of their freedom: more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It stands as a powerful reminder of resilience, progress, and the ongoing important work toward equity and justice.

Juneteenth has been formally proclaimed by the Fort Bragg City Council as an important day of recognition and reflection for our community.

We invite our community to take this day to reflect, learn, and honor the significance of Juneteenth in Black history and in our nation’s collective story. City offices will reopen for regular business hours on Monday the 22nd of June. Thank you for joining us in recognizing this important day.
