Last week, the 44th wrapped up our final Dragon Medic Leader Forum of the year. Bringing together leaders from all 5 of our duty stations to discuss the vital topic of "How We Care for People." Together, we learned of the innovative ways we can improve on being there for our extraordinary Soldiers.

Thank you very much to all the external organizations who came out to teach during this great week. Our leaders left better prepared and knowledgeable on the process of keeping our most valuable machine running, the Soldier!

We were also grateful to host LTG Anderson, Fort Bragg and XVIII Airborne Corps Commander, as our guest speaker for our 60th year anniversary ball to close out the week. While there, we were also lucky enough to recognize some outstanding Soldiers and senior leaders for their many achievements across the Brigade. A big congrats to the 5 newest members of the coveted O2M3 (Order of Military Medical Merit), and to our amazing ball committee who made the event possible.

Recently, the 44th hosted our second iteration of the Dragon Medic Leader Academy here on Fort Bragg. 12 NCO’s, from across our unit’s footprint and outstations, attended and tested themselves with key developmental trainings. These trainings were aimed at fostering and developing the key tasks we regularly ask of our NCO corps.

Over the course of the week, these Soldiers learned how to prepare and execute training on the 8-step training model, troop leading procedures, day and night land nav, operating a range for day, night, and reflexive fire, land navigation, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care.

The 44th is proud to host these outstanding leaders and we are excited to see all the great training and mentoring these NCO’s will do for our future Soldiers!
