Bravo Company Hurricane Soldiers,

As the year comes to a close, we want to recognize the discipline, resilience, and teamwork each of you brings to the formation every day. Your commitment to the mission and to each other does not go unnoticed.

Whether you’re spending the holidays with family, friends, or fellow Soldiers, take time to reset, stay safe, and look out for one another. We’ll come back ready to train hard and continue setting the standard.

The History of Bravo Company, 249th Engineer Battalion - Prime Power

Bravo Company was reactivated on 16 November 1994 when the was brought back into service at Fort Belvoir to reestablish the Prime Power mission.

From the 1990s onward Bravo Company has been responsible for delivering large scale deployable electrical power for missions around the world. Soldiers in the company evaluate electrical systems, operate medium voltage power plants, maintain critical distribution equipment, and support joint services and federal organizations.

Bravo Company has played a major role in overseas operations since its reopening and has been central to disaster relief efforts across the United States, restoring power to essential sites during national emergencies. The company has consistently represented the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment with professionalism and technical expertise.

Based at Fort Bragg, Bravo Company continues to provide dependable power wherever it is needed and remains a key part of the Army’s Prime Power capability.

Today we honor the men and women who answered our nation’s call, and the families who stood beside them. Together they ensured that when the nation needed power, strength, and resolve, it was always there. The U.S. Army Engineer Regiment has stood strong to defend American interest. 249th Engineer Battalion - Prime Power and Bravo Company Soldiers have a legacy of bravery and valor to power the missions set before them.

From combat zones to disaster relief missions, Prime Power Soldiers have kept the lights on for America. Their work has powered hospitals, deployed assets, and entire communities when it mattered most.

To every Veteran and every family who has carried the weight of service, Bravo Company stands with you in gratitude. Your sacrifice and support continue to fuel the mission and protect our nation’s strength.

Prime Power. Always On. Always Ready. Charge the Storm.

The past week has been a work wind for the Hurricanes! 🌀

We had an excellent turn out last week at our company’s organization day, where Soldiers and families gathered and had great spirits.

The unit got ready for its upcoming range with briefs and shooting at the Engagement Skills Trainer(EST) range. Soldiers were also thankful to American States Utility Service for providing excellent training opportunities at Ft Bragg.

The trunk or treat with the chili cook off was an absolute hit thanks to the Hurricane families showing up and supporting! The costumes were great, the chili was spicy and the trunks were sweet.

Finally, we saw the 249th Engineer Battalion - Prime Power command team come down and brief their Bravo Company Soldiers, and award the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment award, the de Fluery medals to three outstanding Soldiers, SFC Walker, SFC Hoover and SSG Murphy.

Lastly, we had the honor to see SFC shed his rank as his wife cut it off and display his MSG rank upon his promotion, and SSG scope promoted SSG Ghimire. This is only a small capture of what amazing feats the Soldiers of Bravo Company have done as they continue to better themselves, their families and their service.

Hurricanes Family Event!
Bravo Company invites all families to join us for a fun physical training event on November 25th at 0900. We will meet at the Central Issue Facility parking lot, with the route beginning on the old Fort Bragg Road.

This trot is approximately 3.5 miles long and can be completed at your own pace. We’ll have Dunkin’ Donuts available for everyone who participates! The route includes a gentle climb with a maximum elevation gain of 100 feet and turns around at the flagpole.

As we walk, we’ll cross an intersection with assistance from traffic control personnel, and we’ll pass informative signs detailing the rich history of Fort Bragg, a great opportunity to learn about our installation’s beginnings!

We look forward to sharing this event with you and your families!

This week was a fantastic hurricane week!

Bravo Company Soldiers conducted training and assessments across Fort Bragg to strengthen readiness for the unit’s FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency response mission, to include training at Womack Army Medical Center. These events also highlight the unique synergy of Prime Power Soldiers, whose knowledge of critical facilities within our footprint ensures we can respond effectively to any emergency.

The Hurricane family will miss two long-time members of Bravo Company. MSG Adkins bids a soft farewell as he transitions to the 20th Engineer Brigade, where he will continue his excellent service to our Regiment. SSG Faerber also moves on to his next chapter. His energy, smile, and personality will no doubt inspire his next team!

Finally, the company wrapped up the week with layouts, Sergeant’s Time Training, and SHARP, capping off a busy and productive week of Bravo Company doing the right things to stay ready to propel U.S. interests when called upon.
